Perfect multiple family rental. The Master Suite on the main floor was perfect for grandparents who don’t like stairs. The 2nd Master and bedrooms upstairs was perfect for rest of family. Kitchen was open and had everything needed for family meals together. Pool offered both sun and shade. Short walk to the beach with nice beach chairs, wagon and plenty of sand toys.
Thank you to Coastal Cottages AMI for making our family vacation to Anna Maria Island so wonderful! Weve spent many years vacationing in the Bradenton, FL area and this was our first vacation rental on AMI. Coastal Cottages AMI staff were easily accessible and professional. We look forward to booking with Coastal Cottages AMI in the future.
We absolutely loved our house on AMI! It was perfect for 2 families. The pool and hot tub were fabulous and enjoyed by all. Lots of space for 8 people. When we called about needing a pool skimmer, they brought one right out. The house was clean on arrival and all of the linens were sparking white. The house is the perfect location to the beach with a quick walk down the boardwalk. The only thing I would change is to add a softer, more comfortable mattress in the master bedroom. We had a great stay on AMI! I would rent from Anna Maria Life Vacations again!
Absolutely fantastic experience booking through Coastal Cottages AMI. The staff was very friendly and so easy to deal with. The property was gorgeous, (the pictures did not do this house justice), beautifully decorated, meticulously maintained with breathtaking views.The only letdown was the lousy weather, although we cannot blame it on Coastal Cottages - lol, its a great excuse for us to come back.Thank you.
We use this rental agency because it delivers personal service on Anna Maria which is hard to find when you are dealing with beach vacation rentals in Florida. Prompt attention to any issues can be expected with a live human actually answering their phone. Some rates are negotiable depending on the time of year. Local people run this business well, not a monster firm with little connection to the area.
I have been using Anna Maria Life Vacation Rentals on Anna Maria island to rent my property for one year. I own a two bedroom, two bath 1200 square foot condo on Holmes Beach. Billi Gartman, the owner, runs a well organized professional company. Her organization is unique. She has several department heads that run bookings, maintenance, housekeeping and accounting as well as a separate office staff. The staff has been extremely responsive to all my needs. As an example, the head of maintenance spent hours in my condo creating a handbook that described the workings of everything from myremote controlled shades to my induction cooktop.Additionally, there are two full time maintenance personnel that are available 24/7. Professional, responsive and caring in everything they do and all for a 20% fee that is standard in the industry. I believe Anna Maria Life offers the best value in representation on Anna Maria Island.Additionally, there a two full time maintenance
Upon checking on a Sunday they air didnt work, called the after hours number, they called back right away and had someone there with in a 1/2 hr and got it up and running... later that day had issues with the pool heater not heating, again they had someone out immediately and fixed the problem and up and running in an hour. Things are going to break, just the way it is, but its how things are handled when you have a problem and both times were very prompt, concerned and the people sent to fix were excellent. Im not one to ever write a review, but definitely deserving. Had a wonderful week, was just what we were looking for and didnt want to leave. See you next spring. Thank you
We stayed at a Place in Paradise last month and had a wonderful time. The property is conveniently located near local stores, shops, bars and restaurants, all within a few minutes walk. Most importantly, it is less than 2 minutes to the glorious gulf beach of Anna Maria Island. The rental has everything you need, is comfortable and tastefully decorated and furnished, with a great relaxed vibe. We had a small issue with the TV and the team at Coastal Cottages were terrific and sorted it out within the hour while we were out enjoying the sunshine!
We loved our stay in Anna Maria!!! Our condo was perfect with views of the bay and the ocean(Coquina Mooring)! Some updates have been made to the condo but could use a few more but the condo was very clean and it had everything we needed. The only problem we had was that the condo was for sale and was showed twice during our visit. We were able to deny entry if we wanted but we hated to do that. We were brought a bottle of wine for the inconvenience but feel we should have got a little more than that maybe a small discount on our stay or something. Everything else was perfect though😊 and Coastal cottages AMI was always very nice and answered all questions we had!!!
The condo that we stayed in was very nice, we enjoyed our stay. The only thing we might think twice about is climbing 3 flights of stairs several times a day, but if you have no physical limitations it shouldnt be a problem. The condo itself was just as nice as the photos portrayed. Steve at Coastal Cottages AMI (reservations) was very helpful prior to our arrival, answering our questions and actually visiting the property to get information for us. On arrival, Billi was very welcoming and provided great information. We had only 2 minor issues requiring assistance, handled timely. The only improvement that could be made is the process to turn in keys on checkout. The contract stated use of a lockbox, but keys from prior renters were left in the apartment and we were asked to bring them to their office which we did the afternoon prior to our departure. We were then asked to bring our last set of keys in the next a.m. prior to leaving. We didnt want to do that as we were leaving very early, in the opposite direction. That caused a discussion that was longer than we felt necessary, we actually werent even asked if we enjoyed our stay, or would be interested in renting again the following year. After many vacation rentals across the country this was the first time we were expected to drive the keys to another location on checkout. Not a major issue, but the process could use improvement.
Coastal Cottages were brilliant. This was our first vacation rental on Anna Maria and they handled it flawlessly. The property was spotlessly clean and tidy, beautifully presented and in a great location on the canal (Lake La Vista?) and Pine Avenue. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable. We had a magical escape on Anna Maria island. The home was perfectly located near beach, local restaurants and lots of activities. Coastal Cottages was amazing to work with and provided answers to any questions. The home was clean and perfect for our large family. We will definitely book with Coastal Cottages again!
We rented a wonderful beach house through Coastal Cottages and were very pleased with their booking service and communications throughout the process. The home we rented (Lay-by the Point) was well furnished and clean. Excellent place for a social distancing vacation!
Will NEVER do business with this place. They do not inform you of a 3% credit card fee until AFTER you book with them. I cancelled within 36 hours of booking once they sent me an email asking for a check to be mailed for final payment. Most people don’t use checks these days. I requested that my transaction be cancelled bc of the fee. They cancelled my booking but kept $200 as a cancel fee. A good business would refund this money due to the obvious misinformation of their policy. I would understand if we cancelled a week later, but it was right away. When I called VRBO, they cannot issue the refund, but said I am due a FULL refund. They said they’ve never had a company refuse to refund in this situation. $200 is a lot of money to lose so don’t hold your breath if you book with them.It was not 72 hours! You are crooks and liars. You lack professionalism. Absolutely horrible to do business with!They have now added the credit card fee to the listing on VRBO. How convenient!
We had a fantastic experience with Coastal Cottages AMI. From start to finish they were a true concierge service. The house was everything we hoped and more. From easy check in to surprise features at the house, we couldn’t be happier. The one time we had to call about minor detail, the team was kind and so courteous. We can’t wait to visit again and work with this company.
Our family rented the Bean Point Beach Cottage on Anna Maria Island for a week and we had a fantastic time.The cottage is charming, well appointed and the location is close to the beach, restaurants and shops.The pool and covered area in the back of the house was perfect for our 6 month old to play in the pool and enjoy the Florida weather.The check in process was super easy. We would recommend renting a golf cart to zip around the island. We recommend coastal cottages and hope to return in the future!
UPDATE 8/25/2020: Coastal Cottages took my issues and complaints into consideration and we received a refund of $350.00 for the additional cleaning and maintenance that we had to manage while staying in the vacation rental.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Extremely disappointed, dissatisfied, and disgusted with Coastal Cottages!!! We have been visiting Anna Maria for over 30 years and this was our first time trying this rental/real estate agency due to the beautiful home we viewed, Villa Marianne, but we received virtually NO CUSTOMER SERVICE OR SUPPORT ONCE OUR MONEY WAS COLLECTED!!!We have stayed in a number of homes, motels, condos, guests houses, etc. throughout the years at Anna Maria and we have NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE and lack of regard for the customer/renter and the property owner’s investment.We had the following issues:The house was dirty inside and out; dirt/sand on floors and in bathrooms; clogged bathroom sink; extremely low water pressure in some bathroom sinks to the point where water only trickled; dirty dishes with food stuck on them; hair on “clean” sheets and blankets; busted, caved in pavers by pool (which we had to block because of tripping); remote for pool and spa control broken; pool and spa NOT heated as advertised; trash and recycle bins overflowing with flies all over upon arrival (we had nowhere to put trash for 2 days until we set the bins out for pickup); BBQ grill filthy and out of propane upon arrival (food stuck all over with flies buzzing all around); outdoor kitchen was filthy and had broken, deflated rafts covered with sand crammed in the kitchen area with 2 filthy small trash cans; broken gaming table (foosball)...two pieces completely broken off and one had been taped back on and the whole table was warped; hole cutout in wall of “game room”; the only broom in this large home was broken...the broom stick had a butter knife taped to it and the head of the broom laying next to it!!!; broken vacuum cleaner; we were overcharged as we saw the week we were staying on the website at a lower rate once we paid.I called the office about the pool and spa not working (this was the biggest most pressing issue because my granddaughter was visiting for only 2 days and wanted to swim at night and the pool light was not working and pool and spa were not heated and spa jets not working). I called multiple times until someone answered the emergency/after hours line and was given the run around, but a maintenance man ended up coming over later that day and opened the main panel (he said the remote didn’t work) and just left it unlocked so we could control the pool and spa. The jets and light worked, but it never heated.NO ONE EVER CALLED TO FOLLOW UPI attempted to reach the office regarding all of our other issues the following day (during business hours) but I reached a recording multiple times. My husband and I determined that we would be acting as maintenance and repair foreman during our entire vacation if we had to handle everything that was wrong. We did our own cleaning and simply did not utilize the BBQ grill.The day before checkout, I sent an email with a few of the issues so we would not be blamed (we also have a dated photo log) and the next day, I received a call from Coastal Cottages (when I was already home) and I was provided with the following excuses:“The house was rented back to back for the last several weeks”“Because of the pandemic, we are working from home”I would stay away from Coastal Cottages. Just around 40 positive google reviews (over a few year span) is not enough of a reassurance to throw away your your hard earned money and your family’s precious vacation time. There are many other places to choose from in Anna Maria...Coastal Cottages has clearly become complacent in their delivery of customer service and maintenance of the properties entrusted to their care.I have requested a refund of the difference between what was advertised and what we paid. No response yet, but hopefully this will at least be handled professionally and appropriately.
The house was wonderful-my wife is VERY particular about cleanliness in rentals or hotels, and she was very happy with the house! There was a problem with the wireless internet, but they had someone out within an hour of our calling and it was resolved very quickly. Overall, I was very pleased with AMI and the house that we rented.
Our family visited AMI for the 5th year, and this was our first time using Coastal Cottages Realty. I will not use anyone else from this point forward!! Incredible customer service. Not only were we able to get into our rental a little earlier than expected, but it was by far THE CLEANEST unit we have ever rented. I was informed the company recently underwent staff changes, which explains the earlier negative posts. If you are a Review reader, like myself, please, please do not focus on the earlier negative reviews. I promise, you will not be dissatisfied!
Absolutely wonderful accommodations! We are a bit older and not quite as mobile as we used to be and the unit at 218B Palmetto Avenue in Anna Maria was just PERFECT for us. Two roomy bedrooms on opposite ends of the unit provide the privacy required at the end of the day with a well furnished living room and kitchen between. PERFECT!
Disappointed would be an understatement. We rented Gulf Shore Cottage on Gulf Dr. for our family to share for a week on spring break. We drove in from Ohio over a 24 hour drive with a 7 week old baby, other family members flew in from California. We arrived to find the house absolutely deplorable and that doesn’t even begin to describe the level of filth that we encountered. There were long black hairs all over the sheets of two beds, leading me to believe they don’t actually launder the linens after you leave, they specifically state: do not remove linens from the beds... perhaps it’s because they don’t ever change them. The pictures are NOT accurate and admitted by the office manager they are over 2 years old. The floors were disgusting, your feet stuck to them and were black with yuck within a hour. The dryer made horrid sounds. The towels had hair on them. The couches are microfiber material and have that unclean feeling of dirty dingy microfiber furniture. The little room with two twin beds is actually a HALF converted breezeway between the house and garage. The jetted tub wouldn’t work. The pillows smelled like smoke. We’ve stayed on AMI for years 3x a year and this is the first property we’ve ever had a problem with. But it wasn’t just the house, it’s the gal that owns the company and the two women that work for her. First of all, they don’t know what it means to arrive to work on time. Sue is absolutely the worst human being to walk the earth, no one should ever scream at their customer, ever. She honestly should be ashamed at the way she conducts herself. The only person who has any comprehension of customer service was the new gal, Pam. She was very understanding of the situation and wanted to get us into a new house. They were not going to give us any type of refund until I proclaimed that I would not leave the office until something was done. They wanted me to understand the house reflected the price of rental. No, just no, if you rent a property it should be clean. I will never rent from coastal cottages ever again and I encourage anyone to complete due diligence prior to doing so. If you do take the risk, please, rent through homeaway, so that you can get your money back if something goes awry.
So DISSAPOINTED! For the past three years we have stayed at the Seahorse Cove house on Anna Maria. The first year was spectacular. The second year, a few items were broken/missing (ice machine,lights/fans/TVs). This year was the WORST! Unfortunately Coastal Cottages AMI did absolutely NOTHING to resolve it. We called the day we arrived to inform them, the pool was not working, the hot tub would not fill up, A/C was not working properly working, the ice machine was not working and had a terrible odor coming out of it, exterior doors on the main level and balcony would not lock, sheets were dirty and full of sand or food crumbs, and there was a 6ft+ section of the screened in patio ripped and wide open, resulting in our young children being bitten like crazy!We called the after hours number and finally a pool person came out and told us how to fill the hot tub and that there was no longer a remote for the pool because the owner didnt want to replace it, but it still wouldnt heat. After the 3rd call to after hours, they told us that Craig, the manager would call us on Monday. No call...I left another message at the office Monday requesting they PLEASE call me back. No Call.This house is over $5000/week. We have paid the same price and more each year we have stayed there with less and less quality of amenities and a blatant lack of response from the rental company.Seahorse Cove is clearly mis-managed and the owners have stopped maintaining the property. Dont let the pictures fool you.
In April, 2018 we rented a home from Coastal Cottages AMI. Three months later we received the following email...The owner contacted me and asked that we try and find another home for you for the week, HE WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE RESERVATION and has booked flights from England already for his family. They offered us 3 alternative homes, none of which were located where we wanted to be, near our family living on AMI. When I found a house thru other sources they refused to pay the meager $148 that we had to spend additional at a different location, even though their mistake was the reason. This company doesnt engage in high moral business practices and I would suggest renters look elsewhere. The owner should know better how to handle a transaction when their mistakes cost customers additional funds.
This charming cottage is in the perfect location. Close to everything. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only thing I wish we had more of was closet space. All space has been used efficiently but no where to put suitcases. But it wouldnt stop me from renting it again.
The agency itself was fine, but the house we rented through them was extremely disappointing. It was very clean and well equipped and the pool area was very very nice, which is the only nice thingi can think to say - but there is no lighting or outlets by the pool - was fully dark by 6:30and unusable. . AND ..... in essence a horribly inconvenient house. Master was ridiculously oversized, while the second bedrooms bathroom opened right into the living room, very outdated, and so tiny it was barely adequate. Only way to get to pool was down a very steep spiral staircase or a temperamental elevator. No porch or deck to sit with a morning cup of coffee except to take that ridiculous elevator to the pool area- and again no deck or porch or lighted pool area, so literally no outdoor space after sunset. Will never consider this house again.
My experience started out very positive with a nice email and quote sent over from Brian at AML Vacation Rentals. This quote was generated from a form I completed through Anna Marias Chamber of Commerce site that included the dates and accommodations I needed(the chamber was wonderful to work with btw). I received both a quote and a nice email from Brian who recommended the Bayview Inn - 201 property. The quote I received was for the dates I needed - 6/29 thru 7/6 (a 7 day rental) and the price was in my budget. The property was ideal for myself and my daughters upcoming stay. I worked with Brian via the phone on and off for a couple hours asking questions about the property and details about the surrounding area. Never once did he mention that my dates were ever going to be an issue and I even explained why we needed mid-week dates. At this time, there is limited rentals and our trip came up unexpectedly, so we need to secure something asap. I called back to book the property 30 minutes after my last phone call with Brian. Unfortunately, Brian had to leave for the day, but he assured me that Cheryl could book the unit for me. Little did I know that Cheryl would be unwilling and uncompromising. She did not care that I had a written quote or had spent several calls discussing booking the property. Cheryls only concern was that my required dates were not from Saturday to Saturday. I explained that I had received a quote from Brian with my desired dates and an email explaining that they normally book Saturday to Saturday, but would accommodate my needs. This made no difference. Brian made a mistake and she would not be honoring their quote. Cheryl was rude and unaccommodating. She is not customer service oriented. She was unwilling to offer any concessions or try and resolve the problem. AND never mind honoring their quote. She has no intention of trying to make me happy or take responsibility for their mistake. If this is the way this company does business, I would highly recommend moving along. Cheryls unprofessionalism is unfortunate because the property we were interested in is adorable. To spend upwards of $2000 for a rental, you need to know that you can trust the property management team and that they will honor the quotes they provide. This companys business ethics are questionable and they certainly dont have the renters best interest at hand. The worst excuse for customer service. Facts: took more than five different ways of communicating to get confirmation of agreement. Once on site smug is the best word I can use for the treatment my family received. Had an issue with the property and it took 2 days for them to call back. Not even a call back or answer from Emergency number. Vrbo is no help.Issue was never resolved. Did not even get to use final part of stay.STAY AWAY FROM THEM AND VRBO!
We stayed at the 5 oclock somewhere house... simply beautiful house with everything you could ask for... customer service was excellent always there to answer any questions and help with any problems we had. This was an spectacular experience in a one of a kind location
The house, just 3 minutes walk from the beach, was perfect for a wonderful vacation. Everything went smoothly and Amy and BEV were reliable partners to handle the entire booking process. 2022-02-07We have been using Anna Maria Life to manage our beachfront condo since May of 2021 and we have been very happy with the service they provide. Their reservations staff work hard to make sure our place is rented as much as possible and are very communicative. As a homeowner, we also take great comfort in knowing that they look after our property as they would their own, especially when we cannot be there: spotless cleaning, high end linens, quality checkers and their own maintenance staff. Between them, they notice and handle all kinds of small repairs and make sure that our place runs smoothly for the guests that come through. And they provide this above and beyond service for the standard 20% commission. I would highly recommend them for managing rentals, you wont find any better.

2022-02-05826A South Bay Blvd. The house we rented was a 5 bedroom home right on the bay side of Anna Maria Island. This is our 3rd time here, and this house was by far our favorite. What a gorgeous view! We had our own private beach as well as our own swimming pool.The kitchen was well-appointed, so many different living areas to spread out in, and the beds were comfortable. Bathrooms were very nice. All in all a 5 star location and accommodations.

2022-01-05This house is amazing for a family vacation. We had 8 adults, and could have fit a couple more without any major issues. Inside and outside all pretty perfect, as is the location. Close to trolley stops and beach. Great beach chairs and wagons for use. Check in was super simple, and the house will be hot, but be patient, once you adjust the thermostats, things cool down quickly. The only slight inconvenience was that the shower pressure in the upstairs hall bathroom was pretty much non existent. We had to use the other showers when they were available. Great place for extended family trip!

2022-01-01We are from Chicago and knew very little about Anna Maria Island. We had been to the Keys many times and are big fans! We were beyond pleasantly surprised as to the atmosphere, the beach, the house we rented, and the overall vibe of the Island. The property is awesome!!! The layout, the interior design, the pool, the landscaping, the proximity to the beach and local stores/restaurants/bars is great. We already booked for 2022 and can’t wait to be back!!!

2022-04-19We had a wonderful time at our condo. I had been staying at a different condo the week before, and the Anna Maria Life rental was significantly cleaner and better appointed with basic supplies than the other. We will definitely be renting with this company again!

2022-01-15We have been using Anna Maria Life since they started to manage our house on AMI and we have been very happy with the service they provide. They have very responsive handy persons to take care of urgent matters and have been great at organizing other contractors to take care of maintenance issues, etc. I would highly recommend them for managing rentals and also as a rental customer.

2022-01-14My wife and i are NYS residents and own a property in Bradenton Beach, Florida which is managed by Anna Maria Life Vacation Rentals. In NY we are real estate investors and managers for residential apartments. With that background we understand good service and professional behavior.I have had two previous management companies in the past, but Anna Maria Life Vacations Rentals are the very best. It is like dealing with family. They are responsive, have a system where no work order or concern of a tenant or the owner is misplaced, etc. And the concern is taken care of quickly.During Covid-19, they and all vacation management companies were put to the test with vacationers concerned about their health. It is in times like that when a manager is under pressure that you can tell if they are good.Believe me - They are good.
