Jim is very knowledgeable about business brokerage. I had a pleasure to listen to several of his webinars in 2020-2021. It allowed us to learn more and become better advisors and serve our clients better. He brought other experts with different skills and skillfully interviewed them. During 2020, there was a lot of early confusions about the PPP loans and how they could affect transactions and how COVID affected valuations and dozens of related topics. I gained a lot from these webinars.

I was woken up this morning to a phone call of someone asking me if I was the owner? To which I reply of what? They stated the business, then what they do, and asked if I wanted to sell the business. I replied “absolutely not.” I guess they don’t hear that often and said I was blunt. Well I mean you’re calling early in the morning to someone who never reached out to you or anyone else about selling a business in the first place .. what do you expect? These cold calls need to stop. The reviews are suspicious.. everyone likes you? Everyone? Seems more like paid reviews like someone on your fb suggested. These are the type of people who hustle people to make a living instead of doing hard work. You build a business up, sweat, tears, money what for them to just ask you to sell it?? Are you kidding me? Kick rocks. Stop cold calling people!

We have had a pool service company for the past 23 years with up to almost 500 customers. A couple of years ago we sold 1/2 through a marketing company which we thought was a good deal until we came in contact with Boss Group International, Jim Parker. Actually Stephanie Sherbacow, his assistant, made contact with us on a cold call to see if we wanted to sale our company. We were in the process of doing that and had listed with this other company. After speaking with Stephanie and then Jim, there was not a question we would sign a contract with Boss Group to represent our company in selling. Jim not only spent numerous times on the phone with us but did what we think was one of the best portfolios in regards to not only our company but us as business owners. During the 6 months we listed with another company, we had 2 calls, one just asking questions and the other wanting us to take 1/2 of selling price and the other in 3 years!!!This was all done during the convid-19. In 5 months, we not only had approximately 6-8 interest but sold and closed the deal on August 18. We have recommended Boss Group, Jim Parker, to other companies and if we ever decided to own another company and get ready to sell, he would be the first person we call. BEWARE BUSINESS BUYER & SELLER CONTINUEDChris Ververis no matter what I said and being argumentative was not going to send the NDA or supply me with any information on the business. I then just told him I would speak with his broker Jim Parker and proceed from there. Sent Mr Parker a text message explaining his agent was about to possibly land his brokerage in hot water. All licensed professionals with the Department of Real Estate have a legal and fiduciary responsibility to their seller and potential buyers.Imagine you had a business to sell and a buyer wants to buy it. The brokerage you hire to sell that business does not let you know and you found out about it. Whats your next move? My guess is that the seller has fallen behind in their lease because of Covid 19 and the landlord of the leased space has taken it over. Because of this I believe Chris Ververis is just looking out to protect his commission from the seller and not the seller’s best interest. Instead of doing the right thing and allowing someone who can purchase this business and maybe help the seller by ridding him or her of these financial responsibilities they have with this business. On a side not. I did get a call back from Jim Parker Broker. Call lasted less than 15 sec. He was rude and very unprofessional. I have a little saying. Its Hard To Get A Man To Understand Something, When His Paycheck Depends On Him Not Understanding It. Your presentation skills were very good, you engaged the group very well.The only issue I have with the presentation is with the material. I have learned over the years that there is no absolutes on valuations, and the way the material was presented, is that there is a fixed formula for valuing a company. This is not the case.

2022-04-06Jim Parker has been a huge help to me since I began my business brokerage firm in Downers Grove, Illinois a few years ago. He helped me not only through his Webinars and YouTube Videos, but also personally. He was only one of the very few seasoned business brokers who encouraged me to pursue business brokerage even though I could only do it on part-time basis. Ive now earned more in my business brokerage firm through the first 2 1/2 months of this year than I earned all of last year on my day job. I am now planning to leave my job and move into my business brokerage full-time. That would not have been possible without Jims expert guidance, motivation and belief in me.
