2022-04-18Deplorable, dishonest, thieves is what I can say about Maronda Homes. My best friend purchased a home from them in Oct 2019. After waiting nearly 2 years, relocating her family, purchasing all necessary items for their new home they are now told via email that they are backing out of the contract to sell their home for more money. Who does business this way? Who shatters families lives for pure greed? Maronda homes does. My best advise is to run for the hills, and pick a more reputable company. Do your research, they have an F rating on the BBB. That’s not surprising knowing what I know now.

2022-04-18My daughter signed a contract to purchase a house from Maronda 1-1/2 years ago. Then she waited, called and waited, now one month before closing they canceled the contract because they could sell the house for more money. Dishonest, Revolting business people is the kindest thing I can say about Burnt Store by Maronda Homes. My advice if asked, Run before they steal your happiness ! It appears they are really good at stealing.

2022-04-28I signed a contract to purchase a house from Maronda in Oct 2020. After waiting nearly 2 years for our home they decided to back out of the contract. They claim it’s because I was not approved for my loan which is simply a bold face lie. Lynn at FBC, their preferred mortatge lender started to give us the run around and stated we needed more money to put down on top of what we already put. I stated these would be gifted funds and she said that is not approved as it runs a risk to the loan. Feeling like she was not being truthful I did my own research and found out that was simply not true, I reached out to another lender and was approved with no issues. I requested to change my lender and signed all necessary paper work (which it clearly states in the contract I can use whatever lender I chose” Maronda homes refused to allow me to change my lender and used that as an out to cancel my contract, Dishonest, Revolting business people is the kindest thing I can say about Maronda Homes. Cynthia Baker was our sales rep, and although she was very kind and super helpful at the beginning she was completely unprofessional at the end. She seemed drained of her job and never answered the phone and if she did her answers were always “ I DONT KNOW”. - when she reached out to cancel the contract via Email- Not even the decency of a phone call to explain the situation she instead sent a very vague and brief email that they wanted to cancel the contract and I should reach out to Maronda homes with any questions or concerns. She provided no contact information on who we should reach out to etc. after emailing her and calling trying to find out who we needed to speak to she blocked our phone numbers and never returned an email to provide any guidance or needed information. It was the most pathetic, selfish and disrespectful way to end a contract for someone’s HOME, Especially after working with her for nearly 2 years. I trusted her and most importantly the company she represented as she assured me this would not happen. She also said to my face while signing for the new lender that this would not be an issue. I am deeply disappointed in Maronda Homes as a company, these are peoples homes. We relocated to this coast and our whole life was on hold pending this build. To think as a customer your company doesn’t even reach out to explain the situation and rectify it is a very terrible way to do business. 0 effort was made to honor this agreement. They knew they could sell our house for double and they ran with it. You all should be ashamed, and I hope no other families lose out as we have.

2021-04-26Inspect, inspect, inspect before you buy regardless of the fact the house is a new built. Removed my carpet to tile the bedrooms and this is what I found, construction debris and dust. Now I understand the cause of our allergies. Maronda was not helpful at all at giving me the name and information of the tiles they used so I could match it. No worries, I used a better tile and I am sure I saved even more. I am overall happy with my home but if I was not in a rush to move in when I bought, I would have made them repair all their unacceptable mistakes, such as uneven walls and corners. That is the price of cheap labor and incompetent supervision from Maronda Homes. By no means I am trying to discourage buying a home but this is not just limited to this builder, most of them dl the same. They only care about your cash and production numbers.
