2022-04-25I am always skeptical of bad reviews as I feel that people who have had a bad experience are more motivated to post a review than the average user is, so you may end up with skewed results. However, in this case and after dealing with the office staff at Canal Management I can personally vouch that all the 1 star reviews they are getting are very well deserved.We went there to tour a small space we wanted to rent and the entire experience turned into an unpleasant interaction that left us feeling they did not want our business nor do they care to treat their customers with respect. Our initial meeting with Guillermo was fair enough - short and businesslike and he seemed ready to sign the lease with us. And then we met with Elsa. From the word GO she focused her entire conversation on what we would be required to do or not permitted to do as a tenant. Every question or request was rebuffed and she made it feel as though it was an inconvenience to have to talk to potential customers. She has a most unpleasant client-facing attitude and seems like she might just be the type of dictator personality many other reviewers have cast her as. When we went back to sign the lease we met again with Guillermo who had now completely changed his tune and refused to lease the unit. He is obviously working in abject fear there and we can only imagine how the impact of mood changes and oppressive culture from a toxic management might affect the staff and their tenants. The entire experience left us a bit disturbed.To be honest, we are glad things turned out as they did as we now know weve dodged a bullet. Spending a year stuck in a lease beholden to that management would have been a nightmare!

2021-07-28If I could write this Review with 0 Rating I would. I can not begin to write how Horrible Elsa Askowitz is. This is the person in charge at Canal Management. She is unprofessional and VILE. The staff fears her so don’t expect them to help you if she says otherwise as She will Fire them on the spot. They are also victims themselves of her nasty verbal treatment and unprofessional work. This WOMAN should not be in Charge she has no idea what it is to run a management company. I warn you DO NOT RENT HERE. I guarantee you that you will regret it. Elsa steals, lies and cheats from hard working class people. She has been getting away with this and thinks she can do whatever she wants. She is practicing and enforcing illegal management protocols. I had a verbal conversation with her that lead me to see her unethical behavior. Due to our verbal conversation/disagreement she immediately enforced a lease termination. We had to hire a attorney to respond to her illegal termination notice. Then she decided to increased the monthly rent when we still had 3 months left on our 12 month lease term agreement. She enforced this rent increase by increasing the common ground area maintenance by $500.00 monthly. This is exactly what she does to all the tenants periodically. Which is Illegal to do. Legally as a tenant you are entitled to review the management budget showing valid reason for common ground increases that would affect your monthly rent. When the Attorney hired responded to both these matters they were ignored by Elsa. She then instructed the employees in the office that they could not talk to us or accept rent payments here forward. Although we continued to pay Rent monthly and it was sent via certified mail with signature. She then decided not to deposit the monthly rent checks trying to make it seem like the rent was not being paid. Her evil motives and goal was to enforce a eviction on us. Thankfully we had and have a attorney that has guided us and although we have moved out we are still dealing with this aftermath that she has maliciously caused . I cannot emphasize how Bad of a person this Woman is!!! BEWARE!!! Do NOT RENT here!!!

2021-07-28BEWARE. Run Away!!! I feel bad for the employees who work here as they have a Horrible Person as a Boss. This lady is Nasty Unprofessional and committing Fraud!!! She puts up your rent without telling you anything. Legally she can not do that without providing valid documentation of common area expense increase. She has no idea how to manage these warehouses. She is unethical and does whatever she wants. Beware!!! Do Not Rent HERE!!!

2021-06-13Terrible Ownership and Management! Run FAR FAR Away! If you sign a lease, you will regret it within 3 months, guaranteed! Every company that signs a lease, leaves or is forced out. Look elsewhere, save your business the hassle, time and money.

2018-05-31If i could leave zero stars i would!!! Where do I begin!!?? Rat infested roach infested warehouse. The massive rats eat through the walls leaving huge holes and when you metion the rats she tells you it’s your fault and does nothing. The landlord does not want you to advertise on the outside of your rented space. they provide you with 2 parking spaces. If you park in the common areas they have your vehicles towed and ticketed. Rent increases with no warning every three months, she expects you to do every single repair on a unit that is not yours, isn’t this why we pay rent??? Owner should be maintaining her units to be in proper working order. she makes you pay for water but yet you can’t use it or you’ll get an automatic rent increase, as soon as you’re one day late on rent you get eviction notices, The electrical in this property is a fire hazard And the walls dividing the units are sheetrock and you cannot hang anything from them because they fall. At one point she had the big green trash cans under lock and key. You couldn’t throw out your shops trash yet we were paying for it because of course its included in our rent as an added. THINK TWICE BEFORE RENTING HERE! It’ll be your new nightmare! Trust me..

2017-11-08Run as fast as you can. These people are evil... Elga, Elsa, Anthony, Gerry they will steal, lie and cheat from a hard working class person. Elsa is only part owner because she was on her back to marry Gerry. They will find any reason to keep deposits. Read everything before you sign it. Notice in the lease the deposit does not say they have 90 days to return it. That is on the paper they want you to sign when you move out and it is in very, very small print. the people in the other locations are no better. I rented from Miami, Port Saint Lucie and Orlando all horrible. Place looks like dumps, they do not fix anything. Just run and dont look back. I had to give 1 star to post but I would give negative. These people have so many complaints on them,

2019-02-04WORST RENTAL EXPERIENCE. My personal experience was TERRIBLE with this rental agency. The staff treat was unrespectfull every single time I tried to do something. They just want you to move in and then you are by your own. By the way, the kept my deposit at the end of the contract giving me no chance to restore the unit. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL

2017-07-29I represent a client who rented a warehouse from this company. They are crooks and do not care about their clients or reputation. A woman named Elga would not return my calls about returning a deposit. Ultimately, they tried to keep part of the deposit after holding it for two months after the tenant moved out.Do not do any sort of business with this company as you will lose your money and time.

2017-05-19The worst place where you can put your business the deal is terrible , you are discriminated against no one ever answers the phone when you have a problem the manager or responsible iselle is the worst person ever known in my life followed by the owner and everyone else they increase the rent abusively no respect in all aspects never rent in this property,this people are no humans DO NOT RENT HERE NEVER
