Currently having the Charleston floor plan built. Our house should have been completed in November, (but that couldn’t happen because the slab wasn’t poured until October 22) then we were told sometime in December. Here we are in April and the house is STILL not complete. All we seem to get is excuse after excuse. We were told we would have the CO last week, then that was changed to this week...well the latest update is should be in the next two weeks. I’m frustrated, fed up, and angry. I feel that this builder has overextended themselves and has too many projects going at the same time. There have been WEEKS when absolutely nothing has been done at the house. With no good reason. There are so many issues.Signed...Extremely Fed UpUpdate on the house…We closed the end of April.Still dealing with issues. Most importantly the cracked window. This was known during construction. Had a local Holiday contact that was dealing with our punch out list. He is now unresponsive to my messages. I have submitted FOUR warranty claims and have received NO response. There was an attempt to repair/replace the window in August. They came with the wrong size. Stated that they would need to reschedule. Zero contact since then.Hopefully I will hear from someone soon as I have left a voicemail and another warranty request today. If not, maybe the media can help.Beyond Frustrated
We built our home last year from Holiday and the process has been a nightmare. The house took longer than proposed. The building process was a argument the entire way through. Guys were smoking on the job in our home after the walls had already been painting leaving ash piles everywhere. They Put a regular window in the bathroom when it was supposed to be obscured and the contractor guy basically told me he doesn’t put obscured glass in a bathroom so I literally had to show him our paperwork for him to replace the window that should’ve been Obscured in the first place. They weren’t going to put a glass frame in our shower they were going to leave it open which made no sense so that was another argument of how you can leave an incomplete shower. The shower guys scratched our bathtub everywhere but they couldn’t replace the bathtub because it won’t fit through the doorway so then after we moved in they had to send somebody in to do you like a resurface which was chaos. We paid extra to add Den doors that sat in the garage for months during the build And they just stuccoed and painted the opening.. When doing our walk-through we asked where our doors were for the den and we got what doors? They had thrown them out. Again had to pull the paperwork out of the money we paid for the upgraded doors so again after the fact of us moving in they had to come and redo the stucco and add the doors and repaint. After we moved in we had a ceiling leak in the garage when it rained and apparently whoever did the exterior stone work had cut into the roof with one of the stones causing the leak. The floors we also paid for upgrading we’re popping up and sinking in in multiple places when the guy came out to fix them the next day they were popping again so again they came out to fix them and they argued with me that it was our fault but when he removed parts of the flooring realize that the whole concrete foundation underneath is cracked Which was causing the sinking. The owner of the flooring said he was eating the cost for coming out to our home when if they would have done their job correctly the first time this wouldn’t even be happening. They attempted to fix it again but again the floor is still popping up. I don’t want that company back in my home again and holiday basically saying we have to deal with the floor as is.. Every person they have sent to our home to fix something has showed up in a regular vehicle and either pajama pants or clothes like they just rolled out of bed with holes in their socks and toes popping out, can’t even make this up. No one has come professionally it’s like they just hire these people from the paper.. it has been one nightmare after another and with multiple cracks on the inside and outside from them saying the house is settling it’s just ridiculous .. I would never recommend them to anyone it’s just one thing after another and excuse after excuse of why it happened or why they can’t do it properly.
EDIT: I wrote my review 5 months ago (1 year AFTER my house was supposed to be completed already) and still nothing has been done. We have had permits since November 2020, our home was supposed to be finished in February of 2021 and yet all we have now in July 2021 is a stem wall. We saw the stem wall had been built June 1, 2021....They keep telling us our slab is supposed to be poured but nothing ever happens. I just saw a review from 4 weeks ago that a gentleman said his slab was poured the day prior to his review and that it was POURED ON TIME, so why has mine not been poured!!! We will be seeking legal council if something is not done about this.ORIGINAL REVIEW: I signed with holiday home builders in June 2020 with an estimated time of completion of February 2021. Well a week into February 2021 they haven’t done anything besides mark the land with stakes. We have reached out multiple times to the company and they keep telling us they will get back to us with more info. We never hear anything until we reach out to them again and they say the same thing over and over again and never with any information of when the home will start to be built. This is not the company to build with. This is a horrible experience.
We were trying to purchase a home in May but was told they had reached their quota. We were told that if a deal backed out we could get that deal. We know all about the increases in prices. A home deal fell through we acted quickly to secure. Sent a check for a deposit and thought all was well. Then, management in Cape Coral said no. The price increased 12,000. After speaking with management they were not willing to work with me. BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES. DEALS MADE SHOULD BE HONORED....
Holiday built my house first of all house took way longer than it should have. Second I only been in my house for 4 months and have a lot that needs to be taken care of and they are not responding or taking care of the things they said they would. Horrible experience with buying my first home.
We sign today our home with “Holiday Builders”, I have to said that they have an amazing team, vendors, construction managers, loan and title. Very communicative people. Everything as scheduled, the final result amazing. I don’t have words for how great full I am. Thanks to all of you.
Due to a very tight schedule on our part and circumstances beyond our control, we were amazingly lucky in picking Holiday Builders to build our home in Cape Coral. Tina, at the Cape Coral model, has gone above and beyond what we have ever had from a builder. She is readily available if I have any questions and the build is going beyond our expectations. My husband looks very carefully for quality and has no complaints in the quality of the work as well as them moving along as promised. There is someone working at the home every day and something major accomplished every day. So far, so good. I have had many people tell me I am in a dream world if I expected to have done what they promised in the time they promised. Holiday Builders have hit the nail on the head with timing and quality. We have built several homes through our lifetime, and looks like, for us, the last will be the best! Would highly recommend this builder. Great customer service, cost and quality. We are nearing the final stages and we cannot wait to move into this beautiful home.
I wrote a previous review under a different Google account (attached) but would like to create a new thread using this account...Ground broke on my new home in April but I was told in late-August our windows wouldnt be in until November. Once windows were installed November 19th we were hopeful that the pace would improve but it has not. Yes, we received stucco but it has been nearly five weeks waiting on insulation. I have received three different installation dates (for example: December 13th - also attached) and nothing has been done. We are told there are supply issues, labor issues, and our network has been down which I am are all true to a certain extent but I am tired of hearing excuses and judging by other builders in town, the issue resides with Holiday because no other builder appears to have issues with materials or labor.Holiday replied to my last review stating, The completion of your home is our top priority. - but I cannot get anyone from the Melbourne office to return my call. They also say, We are not the only builder dealing with these issues. - but what they say and what I see from my daily commute does not match. Again, many new homes in our area have started and passed the current status of our home.We are starting to feel underappreciated as a customer of Holiday. We signed in January 2021 and fortunately for us the price we contracted is much less than what it would go for today. We know Holiday has to be losing money on our home compared to other current builds, and we get the feeling Holidays priority rests with homes they can make a greater profit.
Dont believe the best home award for the 2021 Charleston model. That was for last years model. This years model exterior doesnt fit Cape Coral appearance at all and lowered main room from 12 to 9 1/4 and a tub instead of the shower in what is a room to the patio. One whomever came up with the changes should be removed from the company two honor those that tried to buy before changes are made. Three dont show the award for the older model. Change the name.Holiday Builders I would love a call Your office in Cape Coral will have my number and email
I have owned a Holiday Builders home for almost two years now. This company has stood behind their 2 year warranty everytime I called. They have beautiful homes and have awesome floor plans. I would buy and build another one with this builder. There arent any builders who give you two years warranty and stand behind it. Their sales staff is outstanding and honest, the super for this area has made everything right that was not. Broken tiles 3=repaired, a leak in the roof in the beginning =repaired like it never happened. I know you cant make everyone happy all the time, but I am one picky person, and they have my respect.
I called twice and never got a phone call back. I was told that my start date would be Deceber 21st and never heard from a construction manager STILL!! I wrote a check for my deposit 4 months ago and they havent started anything for this process. Starting to think I was scammed my $3,000 for my down payment and they are never going to start the process of building my home. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUILDING YOUR HOME WITH THEM BECAUSE YOU WILL NEVER GET YOUR HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!
If I could give this company a negative star rating I would. Horrible experience. Will never recommend or build with this company again. The unfulfilled promises that were made and the lies from their staff that were fired/quit through our home building process was a joke. The timeline they gave us was all lies just to get our business. We didnt even get a thank you for purchasing our home. Not a house warming gift, (that was insinuated) nada, nothing. Nobody even showed up to our closing. The lack of communication from his company should put them out of business in no time.
Wish i could give a negative star. very poor craftsmanship in the building of the house and its one thing after another. was told everything was prewired for lights and fans but they are poorly wired and always have to put in a warranty claim to have it corrected. always finding the builders shortcuts and poor craftsmanship. would not recommend to anybody and to stay far away from this builder.
Extremely sloppy builder! I have a Holiday Home being built behind my house right now. I’ve never seen a worksite that is so unorganized, sloppy, and reckless. I’ve had to to stand on my property line several times to ensure that they don’t push their filth or ruin my property. Their work trucks and dump trucks cruise right over two vacant lots to short-cut; the result is deep mud-tracks that look a total mess. Someone owns those vacant lots and using them as a road is not only wrong but it’s also illegal. If I owned those lots, I’d sue.I don’t know about the quality of these homes but if it matches the way they build or manage their worksite, I’d steer clear of this builder.Sloppy site = sloppy house.Get it together, Holiday Homes. Learn what a well managed worksite looks like from others builders who do things the correct way and amp up your game. You guys look like total amateurs and it’s annoying having such a ridiculous mess going on behind my house.
Went to one of their finished houses. The walls were scratched and dented, the windows were dirty with caulking, the baseboards were crooked and in one place 1 whole inch above the floor! But the worst one of all, was a shower head in the bathroom was half on the tile and half on the wall. It looked so horrible!
Very poor experience - led us along for weeks, allowed us to spend a significant amount of money on site upgrades, accepted our deposit cheque, then pulled out at the 11th hour leaving us holding the bag. Repeated assurances were backed out of both before and after this.Would suggest anyone considering this company look elsewhere.

2022-02-11An honest review of Holiday Builders. Tina, Paul and Rick were great to work with. A shout out to Mida for getting us moved in so quickly! Yes, there were some hiccups along the way but it happens. Holiday Builders ended up making our home even better with the step down garage (lower sloped driveway) due to the hiccups. Our cabinets took 5 months to come in which significantly delayed our home. If Holiday could have adapted faster to other suppliers we could have been in sooner. It ended up costing us 30K more for our pool due to this delay and material increases on our pool. Sooo...I have 30K cabinets now. But it was worth it in the end. Holiday honored their contract with us in an ever increasing cost environment and I respect that! We feel we selected the builder that had the best value and it turned out to be the correct decision. They did an excellent job and we are very happy with our new home! They are an employee owned company and treat veterans very well. Thank you so much! Thanks for everything Holiday Builders and we hope to work with you again soon when our family members decide to move to Cape Coral.

2022-02-12Well this month marks the 1 year anniversary of signing to get our house built. We were originally given a long estimated completion date of late October. It is now February and we still do not have a completion or closing date. We understand delays and issues because of covid and materials/labor being hard to come by but this is absolutely ridiculous. We have accumulated thousands of dollars in additional costs due to delays because of being on a month to month lease and the significant increase in interest rates over the last year. I personally would not recommend Holiday Builders at this time. Our construction managers have been responsive and understanding but that is about the only nice thing I have to say at this point in time. However it feels as if we are being encouraged to back out of our contact so that our house can be sold for more money. It would have been nice to have more honesty up front that they were experiencing delays this bad. We would have signed another lease.

2022-05-28If I could give Holiday Builders 0 stars I would. I signed my contract with Holiday Builders around 11/23/2020. From there my nightmare started instead of being excited to be a first time home owner, we are miserable, angry and upset that it is taking this long. The lot sat uncleared from November 2020 to July 31,2021. Land was cleared then. From there it was no movement again. We’ve finally made it to what should have 30-45 days from closing and again no movement. Last update was not an update. My credit has been ran a second time with holiday builder in April 2022, paid appraisals and doing everything in my part to make sure financially that the delays are not my part. This is very unorganized as the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand doing. All the while the appraisal was completed before the build completed. Still no closing date in sight. This has been the process all the way through. We are on our second construction manager. Currently have no where to reside and we have to now move again for the THIRD time during this process because of how long this bid taking. There is no help from Holiday Builder, no price cut or upgrades offered due to the delays of the builder. All we want and need is our home to be completed so that I can bring stability back to the lives of especially my son who battles mental health issues and rely on stability to function properly. If I knew purchasing through Holiday Builder would take this long we would have chosen a different builder because I know how important stability is for my every day life to function properly. I am tired of hearing COVID is the reason as I am watching 5 or so houses around my home by different builders have started 3 months ago with the build and PAST OUR PROGRESS. Things that holiday builder say they can’t complete until the driveway has been poured, I see the other builders are tackling those things. Definitely an issue where Holiday took on too many homes, low employee retention or very unorganized when it comes to ordering materials and scheduling the work.I will update after closing whenever that comes

2021-06-11Great Experience so far!I also work in the construction industry and have first hand experience with the hardships in sourcing materials and scheduling in these unique times. I am very pleased and impressed with their communication and timeliness thus far.My slab was poured yesterday, as scheduled. Block is on site and they are already about to put up exterior walls.Lou was very knowledgeable and helpful in the shopping/purchasing process. Joe is very responsive regarding status updates on the work completed and what is to come. FBC (their recommended mortgage lender) has been very responsive and easy to work with so far.I am looking forward to completion of my home and foresee the rest of the construction process to continue smoothly.

2022-07-11I have been waiting to write this review since shortly after I signed my contract. Our home took 1.5 years to build and if you are looking for a great experience as a first time homebuyer with a builder who provides quality, communication, and assuarnce. This is NOT the company to use… my problems began the day I went to view their models and availability. I was given a lot sheet that had pricing. My realtor and I specifically asked if the lots thats said $0 were included, the sales rep I think her name was Gina advised that they were. We chose the highland model, sat down to sign, gave the address of the lot we chose and were told it would be an additional 40k as lots were not included. Both my realtor and I verified that they were with the sales rep. Apparently the rep was new and gave out their internal sheet. The price with the lot was almost 100k off budget from what was originally discussed. They came out with another model with lot included to try and get us to sign. We chose to sign only because at the time they advised us it would take approximately a year to build which lined up perfect with our lease and the model the presented worked fine for our family and was within our budget. It took almost 6 months for them to even pour slab to begin the home and that’s when the real problems started. During the construction process I had FOUR different construction managers over the course of a year and a half. I totally get it’s hard to keep employees etc but this was a little much especially since none of them communicated with their successor. Our biggest problem was with permitting specifically, as a homeowner I shouldn’t be doing holidays job and yet for MONTHS, I went unpaid to do their work. I advised them my well permit would expire on 3/14/22 on March 11th. My construction manager assured me corporate would get it taken care of. Well closing time came and guess why we couldn’t close? That permit was never pulled again. They proceeded to tell me it would be WEEKS as the county was backed up and city. I busted my tail and called many people I knew and was able to finally have our permits pushed through with ZERO help from Holiday. We failed COUNTLESS inspections. My credit was ran more than 9 times during the home building process, my rate lock fees were outrageous as I had to extend THREE different times due to their failures and neglect. And they had the audacity to tell me they wouldn’t cover the rate lock fees. I SCREAMED and begged for a supervisor or manager sooo many times it’s not even funny over the 1.5 years, finally 2 days before closing a supervisor called and agreed to get them to cover the rate locks for us and discuss all the problems I had during the process. This was a terrible process, painful, emotional and upsetting.

2022-04-15IF I COULD GIVE A MINUS 5 I WOULD. W e had our home built and completed in April 2020. Since then we had the flooring replaced 2 times . Found out the flooring was defective but they tried to blame it on us. Now the 3rd floor is doing the same thing and they are refusing, along with the flooring company. To replace it, saying its normal wear and tear. Weve only lived in the house less than 1 year antd it is still under warranty. I guess its lawyer time. Do not do business with this company.

2022-07-18I used holiday builders to purchase my home on 02/2021 they said they would have the house built in 6 months or so …it was delayed a few times with no specific date to have it done delayed after delayed . I was finally able to close on it this year a month ago on 05/31/2022 ! To find out the the guest bath has a huge crack that they have painted..it peeled off and there’s a water leak.I have called them…they said they can’t do anything because i had to caught it earlier before the closing .they changed my project manager twice … they painted the outside pad and with the rain its peeling off it looks horrible.the sliding door when it rains the water leaks inside into the carpet …they say that that’s the way the door it’s designed and they can’t do anything about it .. it’s a horrible experience. Having to call and set up appointment and they come and then they said that they can’t do anything to resolved them .I just wanted to warn people… make sure you go through everything before closing. And don’t rely on their word that they will fix it afterwards that it has a year warranty because they will not take care of it

2022-03-25DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. I was really thinking on hiring them for my new home construction because my family hired their services back on 2021 for their first time home, but unfortunately they went with the worst construction company they found. My family was firstly told that the house would be ready 6 months after signing the contract and making the deposit. It never happened (by December 2021- January 2022) in November, My family got a call from them saying that they were not ready to start building their house due to constructers and materials shortage. Then they said they would let us know( it never happened) On February, they got an email that the house price had increased by $35,000. They accepted hoping to be able to move in soon, but opposite to that they received another call last week that they still unable to start building their house and my family was NOT in the April new building list. In conclusion, almost a year after signing the contract, their still waiting for those people to start building their home. All my family keep getting from those people are excuses and at this point they don’t even know when they going to start working on their house. The worst experience ever…

2021-10-22If I could put zero stars, I would. My husband and I decided on Holiday Builders mostly due to the fact that we were promised a high level of communication throughout the entire building process. There were many builders with comparable houses and prices, but the promises of communication set them apart. All of those promises were lies and it has been nothing but lies since we signed the papers. We signed paperwork 13 months ago. At that time we were told that their build time was about 8 months but at that time it was closer to six months. Our house is at least a month away from completion without any complications, which I highly doubt seeing how things have gone thus far.No one told us that things were being delayed, we received no communication for months. We were told we would have weekly meetings with the construction manager and the sales person, that has never happened once. We had a slab and concrete blocks up before we even had a construction manager assigned to our house, or so we were told, and it was weeks, if not a month, before were actually able to talk to him.I understand that delays happen, especially from Covid, but the lack of communication on those delays is completely unacceptable. Especially when your whole business model is centered around open and frequent communication between all parties involved. There is a delay with almost every step and it is always blamed on someone else. No one will ever take responsibility. We have watched houses that were started after ours be finished and have people move in while ours just sits. There have been multiple times where zero things are done for weeks or even a month. We have caught the company in multiple lies so now it is hard to believe anything they say. It really feels like they are treating us poorly on purpose in hopes that we will cancel our contract and they can sell our house for a higher price. We are paying a ridiculous amount in rent because we had to go month-to-month due to the constantly changing completion date of this house. Does Holiday care? Of course not! They care about making money, not about the customers. If people get screwed, thats their problem. We have 4 small children and are in the process of adopting from foster care. These ridiculous delays have halted our adoption process and made it impossible for us to move any further with it until our house is completed. We started packing months ago after being told completion dates that have now come and gone so we are living out of boxes, which is hard regardless, but with 4 kids ages 7-2, it is just insane.DO NOT USE HOLIDAY BUILDERS! You will deeply regret it.

2021-12-06I had my pre-construction meeting seven months ago and the slab was poured on time but that is all that has occured on time. The windows took three months and I was told everything needed to wait until they were installed. Windows were finally installed two weeks ago and insulation was supposed to go in last Friday but never happened. I see multiple new homes on my daily commute, many of which started well after my slab was poured, and they have already surpassed my homes current status. I am tired of hearing everything blamed on the supply chain when to my eyes every other builder is having very little issue getting what is needed to complete the job.The website that they use for homeowners to track the progress is useless and the employees will tell you themselves it is a bad system. It gets more and more difficult to recommend Holiday to those who ask. My next complaint will be to the Better Business Bureau.
