Always a great experience, wonderful staff and both dentists I’ve seen have been great. Would recommend to any one!
I went here at the end of December for an initial visit and hopefully to get a tooth extracted and prep for an implant because I was in pain. At the end of the visit he told me he couldnt extract the tooth (which I was super confused because the same place pulled my husbands tooth and prepped for an implant).He reffered me to go elsewhere. I called the place they referred me to the following day and they said they dont accept our insurance so I called Center for Dental excellence back to see what I could do. They said I could find a place that was in my network. I wanted somewhere I could be seen for everything and get all my work done in one office. I found a place I could do this at and they said they could give me a free second opinion if I had a copy of my dental plan from the first dentist I went to. I called Center for Dental excellence to see if they could email me a copy of my treatment plan and she asked why. I told her that I wanted to get a second opinion on the work they requested me to get done, she told me that was against their office policies and hung up the phone. That is VERY ILLEGAL as I have a right to anything in my medical records. I had to wait a couple days to go into the office and lie to them just to get a copy to bring it to my new dentist. I am so glad I did because I got my second opinion and they said their treatment for me was very aggressive and they didnt see any of what they said I needed.I DO NOT RECCOMEND CENTER FOR DENTAL EXCELLENCE. The only reason they have *good* reviews is because they have a sign in their office that says free fluoride if you make a google review.
Dr. Jeff has been phenomenal! Unfortunately I have very sensitive teeth and have to be seen frequently. Dr. Jeff has made my visits very nice, I have major anxiety when I come in and he is always so accommodating, ensuring I am comfortable each visit. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone I come across. , if your looking for a dentist who ensures you are going to be taken care of, not feel any pain and even offer you a hand while your cringing to your seat, this doc is your guy!

I was a emergency case ! I was treated very well from begining to end . I have a long road in front of me with extractions and teeth fill ins to decide but I feel very comfortable with my dentist !

I came in as a new patient on a Thursday. I had experienced trauma to my bottom left front tooth in 2012; my freedom pull was impacted causing the tooth to fall out. For almost 10 years it was loose, & finally it had came all the way out!! With my birthday approaching in 6 days, I needed help!! I couldn’t have a birthday with missing front teeth! The staff at Center for Dental Excellence came together as team, full of knowledge and a great sense of urgency for my situation, they seen me, got impressions and reassured me they’d have me smiling again before my birthday! Now that’s customer service!!! Don’t sleep on this dentist, they are the G.O.A.T. Thank you all!!!!!

Pricing is outrageous and since when cant you get your regular cleanings bc they want to try and charge you 1000+ for a deep cleaning with insurance. I can get my teeth cleaned regular if I choose not to pay for a outrageous cleaning that I dont need. Wont be back here!
I WAS so grateful for the care and empathy from everyone at this facility toward my elderly parents...in the past.However, a change in ownership/management resulted in completely unnecessary recommendations for expensive work for an 88 year old woman. Went for a 2nd opinion with an oral surgeon who recommended a wonderful and very reasonable dentist. So glad we moved on.
Completely satisfied. I was taken to the dentist immediately, and the care has been done perfectly. Highly recommend.

We had to switch dentists after many years of using the same. I was nervous taking my girls somewhere new, but Center for Dental Excellence did not disappoint! They are always timely and so nice. Thankful we found a great place on our first try.

Very sad I have to move out of state next month, as this office has been phenomenal. I acquired a slew of dental problems over the past few years and they were great in the initial exam and making sure everything I wanted done was taken care of, and always made sure I was happy with the result. The staff is always so pleasant too. Very much recommend this office!
FANTASTIC BEDSIDE. I get very nervous going to the dentist, but the assistant and doctor made me feel very comfortable. The doc told me everything he was going to do before it happened, easing my concerns. The quote I received for my procedure, was to the penny. I was in and out in 40 minutes. Front desk is extremely friendly and quick with processing. Ive moved out of state from my family dentist and have been trying to find a good dentist in this area. This is by far the best! I will continue to use CDE- Fleming Island for general cleaning!

Im so upset with this office over my experience. I went to this office because Id been price shopping and told them up front that I was doing so and needed to know the cost up front. They gave me a treatment plan and quote and said it was all inclusive (the root canal, the crown, the impression, the office visits). I paid my share and they started the treatment. It was, unfortunately, one boggle after the next. The girl who took my impression seemed to be new or inexperienced. That didnt bother me until my crown came in and didnt fit properly. They had to re-take the impression and build another crown. After all was said and done, I got a new bill in the mail claiming I owe for the second impression. Theyre charging over $1,300 for this! Beware if you go into this office. You will be paying extra for their mistakes.I edited to increase to three stars, because the Dr did do a nice job on my tooth and it’s holding up well.

Beware of this place. New faces all the time like no one wants to stay. They also saying I owe money because my insurance did not pay but my insurance is saying the work was not needed. Besides that, I had some work done at this office by Dr. Jeff. Started having some issues and went somewhere else to have it looked at since I did not trust this office anymore. Had to have the work redone since it was done badly. Be careful about going here. Not good people and not good dental work.

This office is the best! They got me in 2 days after I called for a consult. The staff is so friendly- Dr Strout truly cares and spends ample time answering any questions. The price was so reasonable I thought it was a joke! Literally 1/4 the price for a way less invasive procedure.

Staff is always professional. My hygienist, Deena, may be best I have found. No pressure to have things done. Just present options for you to decide. Just had a couple of fillings replaced and Dr. did a very good job. New technical was nice but needs a little more experience. Other than that, happy with this dentist office. Best I have found.

Their Knowledge and practice of teeth are second to none and there prices and how they work with you make you comfortable and able to get what you need done. As much as I hate going to the dentist, I have to admit my hygienist, Deena, is the best. Really good at what she does, personable, professional. Dentist is good too. Never feel rushed or pressured to do anything. Fix a couple of fillings. Excellent work. Highly recommend this practice.

Recently relocated to Florida and this was my daughters first dentist appointment in the state. She overall had a pleasant visit, from the friendliness of the front office staff to the professional and kind hygienist and dentist. The waiting room was lovely as well. Not pushy with extra services, but provided me with information on what was suggested. Judging from this first experience, I will be taking her back in 6 months.
Staff is very friendly. You walk in and they know who you are without asking your name and to me is a great office staff and crew.
Erika is a very friendly and gental dental hygienist. Dr. Jeff is always kind and willing to do what is needed without draining your bank account.
Everyone that I had contact with at their office was very professional and very friendly. Dental work is never fun but the doctor made sure I was as comfortable as possible before performing my procedure. I had one of my back teeth extracted and felt virtually no pain at all. Not even during the injections. I could not be happier with my experience and Im actually looking forward to my next visit! If you fear or dread the dentist this is the place for you. One visit here will change that.
My deep cleaning appointment ran smoothly. I highly recommend Heidi because she did exceptional work. Heidi and Dr A (Im going to get the name down) helped me set up a game plan to take care of my teeth long term.
I absolutely love this place and the fact the fluoride is a wipe on which is so much better. Deena and Almanda are my favorite people there and I have been going there for years!
I have been coming to Dr. Skaggs for as long as I have had teeth!! There was a time for 2 years where we moved out of state and I refused to see the dentist!!! He always makes you feel comfortable and compliments your upkeep where most dentists would look for something to complain about! Even when I hadnt been to this office in close to 3 years (due to the move) I came back to my first visit and he immediately asked how the family was AND squeezed me in when I needed an emergency root canal!! I now moved about an hour away from this practice, but will gladly drive that hour to have such an amazing experience!!!

Office staff is always welcoming and courteous, hygienists are thorough and precise. Dr. Skaggs is ready to answer any questions you may have, he does not push for expensive care that you do not need; Ive been down that road before with other dentists! I can call if I am having discomfort and they will do their best to get me taken care of promptly.
Dr. Perna is simply AMAZING! She and her staff are always so kind and helpful! She is by far the BEST Dentist I have ever been to! I have had several root canals, extractions, and fillings in the past so I was a little bit hesitant at first because we are a military family and have to see new dentists at each duty station. Most of my past experiences have been terrible. Dr. Perna understands your needs, she is gentle, and takes care to make sure that you are comfortable at all times and that your dental work is accurate and complete. She has saved me money several times! She is very knowledgeable and actually cares which really puts my heart at ease. She truly impresses me every time I see her and also her bedside manner is just wonderful! I couldnt say enough good things about her and I couldnt be any happier with my Dentist!
If I could give more stars I would! Their staff is so friendly! Dr.Skaggs is extremely sweet as well, and makes sure he comes to see you even if youre going in for a cleaning. Nobody likes going to the dentist, but I love being at mine! Best around hands down.
I have not seen a dentist in my last three cleanings. After my last visit, I was over charged $50 which was sent to me in the mail. My wife paid the bill and the next day I called because it was the first time I’ve ever had to pay for a cleaning. When I called, they said they would refund the $50 and said the only way to put it on the card is if I came in in-person. We stopped by this morning, (Monday morning), and they now state they cannot refund the card but that they will mail me a check. When asked when that check would be mailed, they said Thursday which happens to be the next time the owner/dentist will be in. Well if it’s Monday today and the dentist won’t be in until Thursday, it is now crystal clear why I have not seen a dentist in my last three visits.
My experience was wonderful! All of the staff members were professional, polite, and had a great sense of humor. They also did an outstanding job with my cleaning! I would definitely recommend Dr. Skaggs and his team!
I recently moved to the area and in looking for a provider my first criteria was to find a dentist who was not associated with corporate ownership, where profit trumps customer need. I found that with Dr. Skaggs practice. And BONUS! The staff is friendly and efficient, the atmosphere is relaxing, and the good Doctor has a sense of humor that put me right at ease. I am looking forward to having Dr. Skaggs as my dentist for many years to come.

Ive been a patient of Dr. Skaggs for over 5 years now. Hes always done an excellent job and is very efficient in every sense. Gets the job done correct, quickly and with as little discomfort as humanly possible (lets face it, fillings etc arent exactly something you look forward to).I can say the same for his staff. Theyve always. Even pleasant, scheduled me within a reasonable time frame and I rarely ever wait in the waiting room more than 15 minutes. Thats saying something!Thank you, Dr. Skaggs and staff for always working with me in every way. From breaking my fee into payments to scheduling that works best for me and always getting me in and out with a mouth full of clean pearly whites.

Relaxing atmosphere. The staff respond quickly and professionally to urgent needs. Dr Skaggs is warm, friendly and compassionate. I have been patient for over a decade. And, I have great teeth to show under his dedicated care.
Getting in is fast and generally quick but the results aren’t promising. I would have to ask them about thing when they said my teeth were fine, then turned around to say oh ya, actually that tooth needs a crown. They upsell & will try to push you to higher pricing procedures.
Run far away! My husband went in for a partial and it was messed up the first time and we got no call. After waiting two weeks and expecting the partial to be done, he arrived and was told they needed another impression. This happened two more times! Then, it came in with the wrong number of teeth and wrong color! We were then told, it would be rushed. LOL.....It still came back with the wrong number of teeth! My husband missed 5 days of work for this? It took over a month and a half to get shotty workmanship. Not only that, but they are way overpriced. They should have offered him a temporary while we waited for a month but they refused to even do that. I explained that my husband had a job interview, missed 5 days of work and that meant nothing to these people. I dont recommend them at all.

Horrible. Do not go here if you value your teeth. They used to be good and have now been cutting corners for years since the previous Dentist/owner retired. All dental assistants are unfamiliar with the equipment they are using and have obviously not been trained adequately by management. I was in pain after they placed a temporary crown and called the office and was told that my Dentist was on vacation and they refused to let me see another Dentist after I asked repeatedly to be seen (my permanent crown was at their office already at this time). They “forgot” to take X-rays of my tooth before putting on a temporary crown and after being in pain for weeks they finally took an X-ray showing a possible infection. Because of this they said I have to see an Endodontist. Instead of receiving my permanent crown, they put the temporary crown back in and couldn’t get me in with an Endodontist for ANOTHER 2 weeks! They sent me home in pain with a “possible infection”!!?? I’ve taken matters into my own hands will be changing Dentists and seeing another Endodontist at an earlier date! Due to their negligence I may be needing a root canal and am still in pain!! I called the manager and told her about all this and all I got was “aha, ok” no apology, NOTHING!!! It’s so incredibly rude I have no words!!! I overlooked so many other issues with this office for years such as sending me bills from over 5 years ago that were allegedly passed due that I had no idea about?! Making me wait almost a week for a much needed prescription!! Continuously hounding me about said bill AFTER I paid for it?!?!! All these things I overlooked because I was a patient there for so long but being negligent and causing me pain is unacceptable!! No thanks!
As a long-time patient of Dr. Dan Skaggs, I can truly say that he is not only well qualified (educated at one of the best dental schools) but he is a true professional. His enthusiasm and dedication is evident. Patient care and comfort are paramount. There are no lingering side effects following treatments. Up-to-date techniques and constant equipment upgrades result in fast and effective treatments. If you want the best, go to the best!Unfortunately, Dr. Skaggs sold his practice and the new Center for Dental Excellence is very subpar compared to the excellent services always rendered by Dr. Skaggs, Charlotte and their professional staff. I only hope that Dr. Skaggs comes out of retirement soon.

I made an initial appointment with Kristen, I believe she is a receptionist. I explained to her that I do not have dental insurance for my wife and I wanted to set her up on a plan that included a cleaning and an exam twice a year and one set of x-rays once a year. Their prices are cheaper than my insurance if the dentist will do what you want. I dropped my wife off for her appointment and went back to pick her up (about an hour later) and they set her up with a plan (deep cleaning and some other dental language) with an initial cost of $777 and total cost of a little over $1500. My wife is not American and there is a language barrier so when I got there and saw the bill I almost had a heart attack. My wife didnt totally understand what she was signing. I explained to the billing representative, (her name is Jan I believe) that when I made the appointment we only wanted a cleaning, exam and x-rays. She explained to me that Dr. Skaggs doesnt do what a patient wants and will only do what he thinks the patient needs with there consent. Bottom line is if you only want a cleaning and exam but Dr. Skaggs thinks you need something else he will not do just a cleaning and exam. My wife has been going to a dentist twice a year for at least 15 years. We just relocated to Florida and this was my first experience with a dentist. Hopefully I can find a dentist that will do what I want and not what he or she wants. I want to reemphasize if you only want a cleaning but Dr. Skaggs thinks, is his opinion, you need something else he will not do a cleaning.

Deena the Individual who took xrays and the like was excellent. The dentist found some dental issues and ghad the time and patience to explain the problem and alternatives. Would highly recommend them!

The office was clean and inviting when I arrived. All staff were extremely pleasant and friendly. Loved the tv mounted on the ceiling, great way to distract your mind.
Very gentle, effective treatment. Discussed all areas that needed attention and explained costs. Let me spread sessions out so not all done at once.

2022-03-01This Dental Office was change after Dr. Dan sold it. We have been in this dental office for many years, The staff are nice until recently when they fix my upper denture it not fit properly so i did not use it for a year. they still charge me for the denture i cant wear because my gums are hurting. Finally i paid my balance so they fix the problem. unfortunately for some reason they lost my denture w/c supposed to be pick up in June last year. So Dr. Jeffrey told me to make me another one, i asked if i have to pay. He said i dont have to pay cause they lost it they are responsible for it.Then the office send me a bill for $2500.00 something. its amazing then they an appointment for me on Feb 28 2022 @9thirty am.then i received email to come in @ 7fifty am.When get to the office they said Dr. Jeffrey cant see me because he is very busy and fully booked. they are the one who booked for me according to my availability.So they make me another appointment w/c is today March 01 2022 Tuesday. they saying my Dentist is sick. Question is why they keep pending my denture fitting may be they want me to pay my denture w/c they lost in the first place, so why i get charge? Is it my Fault for their mistakes? thats very unreasonable. not we realize they charge to much for upper denture only. so how can i recommend a dental Office like this? Dr. Jeffrey i have no complain, he is nice and accept the clinic irresponsibility of the office. he is not charging a service that have been paid for. Its not my fault i have been so Fist Off and Frustrated their service was horrible. i lose my patience already.is this justify-able? For God Sake somebody tell me if this is right. Even the technician do know what happend to the denture for repair.

2022-06-25We had a very disappointing experience here. We moved to Florida a couple of months back and needed to get our regular cleanings. We went to our appointments, being new patients they did all the “X-rays” to establish our “treatment plans”. I have never had to pay to have my teeth cleaned ever. They told me that I needed the next step up from a normal cleaning and that my insurance would only pay a certain percentage. Ok I didn’t mind a little more which was ridiculous because again I have never had to pay for a cleaning. The worst part of this experience is that they wouldn’t even clean my husband’s teeth, they said “It wouldn’t do any good.” Now please tell me why it wouldn’t do any good? I would think cleaning them would at least be a good start. His “treatment” plan was almost $10k and they wanted him to agree to the plan before they would do anything. They left him sitting in the chair while they went to see if they could make the $10k any better. We got our teeth done on a regular bases and yet they made my husband feel like his teeth were disgusting and made him feel very degraded. This does not seem like a good business practice, we just wanted his teeth cleaned. I got the feeling it was all about how much money they could get out of us, again not good business practice. So needless to say we paid $80+ for one cleaning and some X-rays. We will not be returning to place.

2022-05-16Always professional and friendly! I never have to wait long to be seen. Great dental office that focuses on my dental goals instead of trying to sell me a bunch of expensive procedures like other dental offices sometimes do. I will continue to come here as long as they keep being awesome.

Staff is amazing and supportive and caring . Front desk ladies are amazing . I definitely recommend going there. When I arrive for my appointment I know I am being taken care off.Thank you !

2022-02-28This was my first time at the Center for Dental Excellence and it was great, everyone was warm and welcoming and the dentist was very compassionate, it’s been a bit since I’ve been to the Dentist and I’ve just moved to the area, I’m glad I found them they’re great!

2022-01-07Dr. Jeff and his team are wonderful! I moved right before the pandemic started so had been without a dentist for too long. The team made me feel comfortable and took excellent care of my teeth. I highly recommend them!
