So disappointed to have gone in this office and see that Gal is no longer employed there. She was making that company so great. Now going in and having to speak to Sean is just not a good experience. He is rude, a liar and he doesn’t even know what his position is in this company. It’s so pathetic and I regret bringing my cousin to try to find a place. Finding a place was so simple and easy when I had the help of The previous manager she was just a breath of fresh air. Now when I went Sean was being rude and disgusting to a current tenant, and I was just so shocked how a human thinks he can speak like that to another, no offense you work there, have respect for your tenants. They don’t owe You anything if you can’t respect them. I called to complain and I was told Sean is not a manager but, Sean told me he is the property manager, so I was just so confused and I would NEVER recommend going there again.
Came with my sister to look for a place for her,I am so HAPPY to say the team in cooper properties has helped her find an apartment for her and my niece. I have been trying to find her somewhere for so long and when I spoke to the leasing manager Gal in the office she was so comforting in assuring me that We were at the right place. Thanks to the leasing agent Vernell I can finally feel comfortable with my baby sister and niece moving out of my house. Thank you again Cooper Properties!
This is my account of renting with Cooper Properties over two and a half years in one of their buildings located in Victoria Park. The approval process was fast and easy. Throughout my stay any maintenance issue I ever had was resolved by calling their maintenance department. Unlike the other reviews I was given my security deposit back in full. I took pictures of everything when I moved in, kept the lease agreement filed, hired professional painters to touch up the walls, and house cleaners to clean everything (even under the kitchen appliances) before returning my keys. The apartment was left in better shape than when I had moved in and I documented that as well.Staff was friendly and very helpful. My only advice to the billing office would be to update to a more effective online payment system. At times I found it hard to make it to the office to pay my rent because of the conflicting hours with my job. Also an online system would save a drive to the drop box. Thanks for an amazing two and a half years!
Vernell is amazing from Cooper Properties! She has helped me for the past 2 years move into my apartments with ease. It’s been a simple and easy transition moving between apartments these past two years. She helped move from a studio my first year renting with her and now I’m moving into my first ever 2 bedroom! She first met me when I was pregnant and now I have a one and a half year old son. Thank you so much for everything!
My A/c broke 24 hours ago and NOTHING has been done. I’ve called and no one has done anything. They are unapologetic and disrespectful. Their is zero transgender sensitivity in the second largest gay community in the country. They made it clear retaliation is their best and worst move. We’ve lived here 2 months, and sadly our building also has rats and termites. Completely unacceptable.
I have rented with Cooper properties for more than 5 years. In my time there Ive found the staff to be professional and personable. The maintenance team is great, and Kenesha and Vernell have always been polite and professional. Sean and Larry are excellent leasing agents. Larry has worked with me a few times while in these difficult times. Hes not just a good guy, I truly believe hes the best leasing agent Ive worked with through my many years of renting. Nice people.
MS. Vernell has bar far been the sweetest and helpful relator i have ever had. I was in a stressful position to find a new place to live. I called them on a Sat afternoon after 3pm. Didnt think I would get much help at that time on a Saturday. But she took me to the ones they had available. Which one I loved. She made the whole process so easy and understandable.Thank you so much!!!
Ive lived at one of their properties for almost 4 years now. Theyve stepped up their business model consistently in that time. Their maintenance team has always been friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. Their administrative staff is professional and courteous, and thats certainly a difficult job to be consistent with. My dealings with management has made it so that I trust in their words. Scott is a top notch pro as well as Sean, and theyre both intelligent and good guys. Im quite happy that Ive stayed with Cooper Properties through the years.
Please do not move into 512 Bayshore Drive. This place is absolutely infested with cockroaches and Cooper has failed to help after many attempts to notify them of the issue. We are very clean people and have taken extermination into our own hands but nothing can be done about them crawling in from the neighboring apartments. We were unable to break our lease and have been living in fear for almost a year. Fortunately my roommate and I got new apartment in new high rise that we will be moving into next month when our lease expires for the same price as we are paying at 512 Bayshore. We can’t wait to get out!!
Great, so far! I did have a low credit score, but they worked with me unlike other estate places, and yes I did have to pay a bit more on my deposit, but I was prepared for that, that was a given anywhere, thats business. Yes! Jason is great! Also, anytime I call in with any issues, someone is sent to my apt almost immediately and do great, fast work. Been here 3 months or more. No complaints. I got what I chose and paid for, so how could I complain about it? Lol. Cheers
Ive been renting with Cooper Properties for about six months. I just transferred to a one bedroom (which I love) from a studio. When I was looking for a place last July, I was almost desperate because I had just finished flight attendant training and needed a place to live ASAP. I contacted Cooper Properties and spoke with Jason. He said a studio would become available the next day. I called back after class the next day, and although I got to the office late, Jason agreed to show me the apt. I said, Ill Take it. The rental process was efficient, quick and stress free. I made a down payment, went to NY for a few days, came back and payed the balance, and moved in that same day. And I havent had any issues since then. The staff is always cordial and helpful when I call or need anything. The apartments are clean and well maintained. I just want to say Thank You to Jason and the staff for making my transition to Florida from New York a smooth one.
Just got the keys and the staff was amazing. Vernell truly is a godsend she worked so hard for us. Gal, Sean and Kenesha also were so amazing throughout the entire process they really blessed us with such support. Highly recommend to anyone looking to move to Fort Lauderdale. Thank you to everyone at Cooper Properites
We had an experience with a leasing agent Sean. He was extremely professional, was able to answer all questions we had and he thoroughly explained the lease contract, payment procedures and all other elements of the leasing process. He was certainly warm and personable as well. I would absolutely recommend Cooper Properties to people based on my experience. The apartment was clean and everything worked. They do not furnish Blinds or curtains, and they indicated such before the viewing. We would do it again, circumstances pending.
Ive lived in my apartment for 2 years & Im comfortable with the space. The management has always been fair & quick to resolve any maintenance issues. In addition, when a maintenance person hit & damaged my new car with their trailer, they took good care to pay for the damage immediately! Beth & Shawn who work the office windows are great! Always a pleasure to stop for making rent payments & chat with the staff! Ive lived in several slum places, its really nice to live somewhere that maintenance issues are handled quickly! Thanks guys!
My first time ever renting an apartment and my Agent Vernell who took care of my paperwork was very helpful and informative throughout the process. Her personality made me at ease being that I was a little bit at ease. If I had to do it again I would definitely want her to take care of the process. Thanks Vernell.
It is my first time renting with Cooper Properties and I am Not disappointed. I got step by step help from Jason Richmond who till this day is helping me with every little thing. Their apartments were spotless, from the ones I saw, and their maintenance crew is fast and on point. They have a wide range of prices and sizes so youll be sure to find what you are looking for. A special thanks again to Jason who made my moving (which was very difficult and complicated) very easy and to this day, enjoyable.
Wow, my husband and I were pleased with the excellent service which we received from Jason Richmond. He was so personable and answered all of our questions with ease.Cooper Properties office setting was pleasant and comfortable. This is definitely a topnotch company to work with when looking for housing. If you are looking to be treated with royalty Jason Richmond is the perfect leasing agent!
I was looking for a place to live. I came across Cooper Properties. I made a telephone call, and talked to Shawn. When I say very professional, and friendly this he was. I went into the office, and we sat down, and went over the paperwork. After this we went to the different properties. I loved the townhouse that he showed me, and would have went for it, but I have a 1 year grandson and I was really worried about the stairs. I would recommend this place to anyone. I am putting Shawn name out there, so ask for him. He will definitely give you his full attention.
I came on a whim because I saw their signs in the street. I called the number and was told to come to their leasing office to discuss available properties. When we got there the guy was a bit abrasive. He showed us a list of properties that we could choose to see. My husband asked if a unit in particular was a 2 bedroom because the price was so low. He responded with You see this tab here? It says 2 bedroom which means this is a 2 bedroom . I started laughing because it was unbelievable that he decided to be condescending instead of helpful. My husband called him out on his condescension and he immediately became more likeable. We gave him a list of properties we wanted to see. He said to meet him at the first one at 12 noon. Here it is, 12:40p on my day off and Im sitting in front of the property still waiting for him. I called him to see what the hold up was, no answer. He had my number on file, so I had my husband call from his number and he picked up. My husband asked what the status of his arrival was. He said he was finishing up some stuff in the office and would be right there.. we waited a bit longer and decided to leave. While we drove past the leasing office, he was still in there. We were looking to move within a week. Waste of time
Worst customer service ever , if I can rate it 0 stars I would. They care about $ not quality of living.... Its a horrible place to live, ive had a mold issue starting June and its August still no work done. The 1st guy they sent told me i needed to clean the vents better that it was my fault. I called back a week later and demanded they send someone else to fix the issue, and the man who came out the 2nd time agreed i had mold and no mater how much i cleaned that they needed to change the entire unit. Im very disappointed in these people. I have a 2 year old and im 8 months pregnant, they care nothing about me or my familys well being.
Rented from cooper properties previously. WORST place to rent from. The owner is arrogant and rude and only cares about his bottom dollar. They made false claims about damage done to the unit that i had already made claims on to be fixed while living there that existed before occupying the space. The front office was zero help with getting any sort of maintenance done. Make sure you do a thorough walk through and take plenty of pics and video (this was the only reason i didnt get a lawsuit against me. i could prove their false accusations, i covered my ass). They are the most shady business i ever encountered. spend the extra $100 and rent somewhere else.
I moved in June of 2013 with a two year lease, I have to start by saying I was miserable for two years. June of 2015 was the happiest day of my life. I lived in the 501 building and it was horrible. My neighbors on the second floor were awesome but the leasing and owner is what SUCKED. Let me start by saying that Caldwell the owner, will do anything and everything to STEAL your money at move out. I had a 1500 deposit, with interest at the end of the least i had a little over 1600. I was only returned $900.00 I am disputing the case as we speak. Caldwell tried to charge me for painting the apartment but yet in the eyes of the law its called/considered wear & tear among other bogus charges. I was waiting to hear back from them before retaining my attorney. This morning 7/14 i received a call from Mr Caldwell himself, apparently thinking he would or could intimidate me but sadly that doesnt work with me especially when i know i am legally right. He refused to pay my money back, wanted me to take half of what i was asking for, I refused, well after advising him how i had pictures, videos, etc from when i moved, his response was you know something, youre just a miserable person I started cracking up, and said I will see you in court!! so ladies and gentlemen this is what runs this property. My attorney will be reaching out to them today and i will get my full balance back as well as my attorney fees. I do not suggest anyone moving here unless you are desperate. if you make the mistake i did by moving here, i highly suggest you take pictures when you move in while the apt is still empty, take pictures after you hang your frames, because they tried charging me for 71 nails, do you realize i would have had to hang 35 frames with double nails, who does that in a small apartment????? so again, take lots and lots of pictures of every corner. take videos over everything. I even video myself dropping off the keys, showing all the contents in the envelope, even showed the letter i added in there, I was not playing I knew these people were scum, so i knew i had to cover my ass in order to get all my money back. FYI: i am not bashing Caldwell because i am upset nor was i evicted, i competed my lease, i did what i was legally responsible to do at move out, and now i just want what is rightfully mine, and thats MY MONEY BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They charged a girl $500.00 because she left a nightstand behind, so again these CALDWELL is a slumlord and will STEAL your money when its time to give it back to you. Protect yourself and your money!!P.S. Jason is a great leasing agent. I love him but once you are in, nothing is up to Jason other than trying to answer any questions, its all up to Caldwell and thats when you will start to see the problems
I went into cooper properties and was greeted by a young lady that seemed a little new at things but was very helpful. I was introduced to a young man that not only was helpful but seemed to have a wealth of information on everything I asked. He explained everything in good detail and took me to view some of the available properties. I must admit I was a little shocked at some of the places her took me too and ended up being more impressed with his services and experience then the apartments themself. While I didnt end up renting from the company due to the availability of some of the units that interested me. I would definitely revisit them when I have to look for a place again and also recommend any one that visits to ask for Jason. A+ customer service.
It is my first time renting with Cooper Properties and I am very satisfied. Jason Richmond helped me through the whole moving and renting process and is still helping me with every little thing. The apartment was in top condition when I moved into it. They have a wide range of prices and sizes so youll be sure to find what you are looking for. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for help in renting.
If there was a way I could give them less than a star, I would. Not only is this place infested with roaches, rodents, and crackheads. The property is ALWAYS filled with trash. The local drug dealer and his girlfriend have a problem every 3 business days. I’m talking, FULL ON screaming matches at any point of the day, INCLUDING 3am on a weekday. Cooper Properties is ran by idiots and backed by children. The maintenance office (office behind the leasing office) must literally hire ANYBODY to work there. All of them are incompetent and lack professionalism. Whenever I had an issue and tried to file a complaint for Lindsey’s grossly unprofessional manner, Caldwell C. Cooper, the landlord, refused.
I would like to introduce myself my name is Randy Prado I am a realtor in Broward County for 16 years and my portfolio ranges from luxury property sales to section 8 rentals and any and all transactions in between. In Addition I also manage commercial and residential rental properties here in Broward County.the last quarter of 2017 and now 2018 I have had the pleasure to work with clients who have chosen Cooper properties as the property management company for their rental needs.Ive had the pleasure to work with Scott, Vernell and Sean In the leasing department and have been treated with the highest level of professionalism time and time and time again.I have read some of the reviews and it is hard to see what some people will say when theyre angry and not receiving what they feel they deserve.Whether your real estate agent or your a consumer looking for a place to live or your a current tenant it is my true belief that how we communicate with one another will end up in result that is positive or negative.I had my own situation where I didnt necessarily agree with a decision but by bringing it up in a way that was positive the results and outcomes came out to be just the same positive.Cooper properties and your team I will say this as a real estate agent who in some cases will have a client that really needs clean safe and functional housing but clients have credit or other challenges that most organizations wouldnt even look at.Your Team considered these clients and often helps them with great housing opportunities.Consistency creates credibility!job Well Done!!
Called in just to get some information on one of their properties. Spoke with Ms. Chenita over the phone and she was super helpful. She told me about a wonderful one bedroom that sound exactly like what I was looking for. I came into the office to tour and was helped immediately. Chenita and Jason were so professional and seemed to really enjoy working there. Jason took me on a tour and he was so helpful and really sold the apartment, highlighting every feature of the place. Though I did not end up renting I had a wonderful experience with Cooper Properties. Will definitely use them if I decide to move in the future.
After looking around for weeks to find something in my budget, I felt like I was not going to find anything worth living in. Realtors actually turned their noses up at my situation. I lucked out and found cooper properties and Jason. He made me feel comfortable, he answered all my questions and he kept all of his promises. He is a knowledgeable and super friendly...a true superstar! Thank you for making this move seemless.
2 yr tenantWhen I moved in everything looked great, besides normal patching on the walls and camo cement flooring overall it didnt look bad. Nothing a bit of love and customizing couldnt fix. I accepted the apartment As Is because I was in a hurry to move from my previous residence, a dormitory just finishing college, so it wasnt the best they could do and it was understandable. However, under Florida law an As Is agreement can only be extended to a residence deemed habitable, in other words, if the place had anything wrong with it that a normal human being in normal living conditions could not physically inhabit because of some life threatening issue the As Is agreement is considered not usable. The apartment I moved into was infested with bed bugs and thanks to the camo cement flooring you couldnt tell until it was too late. For some who may not know what bed bugs are or why they are even considered a threat to human life, because I had no idea these creatures even existed, bed bugs are considered parasites that feed off of the blood of their victims leaving behind small but noticeable bumps, tracking their prey through carbon dioxide trails left from breathing, once they find you they proceed to slather an anesthetic saliva that also doubles as an anti coagulant which means you wont feel them bite you and your bodies natural defense to this type of attack is shut down, they also multiply at an alarming rate and can go dormant for months at a time and it has been scientifically proven that this ancient species has evolved from their 1960s counterpart, and who knows how many times before then, so this is why bed bugs are a threat to human life because if they multiply to the extent that do they can cause anemia after prolonged exposure to humans kill small animals and even kill humans if left alone long enough to procreate. I was then accused for bringing the bed bugs into their complex after their professional pest control company Just Termites had recently within the last 30 days determined there were no bed bugs or any pest for that matter in the home. I had spoken with the pest control specialist sent to the home before he had received orders not to discuss the apartment history and was then informed that there had been multiple calls in the past for this very apartment for bed bugs, I then called an outside pest control company that specialized in bed bugs and they determined that the level of infestation could not have happened in under a single month in fact it was to the extent of several months, I had only been there for about a week. The specialist recommended a heat treatment to kill all of them off as soon as possible so I gave the specialists information to Cooper Properties along with his detailed summary and asked them to perform the procedure. They informed me that they would have to consult with Caldwell Cooper the owner who proceeded to deny the treatment. Now at this point I wasnt upset with the fact that I was lied to about the apartment being in good condition or about its history but to refuse to fix the problem that could have been avoided by following state laws I had no choice but look for a lawyers legal advice as this wasnt simply an accident anymore it was blatant criminal activity. After contacting a lawyer I contacted the Better Business Bureau per the lawyers advice and filed a complaint against Cooper Properties to remove the life threatening parasite from the home and to compensate me for it, as I went to school for Web Development so I worked from home and during this time frame I had no home to work from so inversely I lost not only revenue for myself but also the money to pay the rent that was agreed upon, the next day I received a phone call from Cooper Properties about a plan of action they were going to take to exterminate the pest and was paid $50 dollars for my time hence my distaste for Cooper Properties.
Its a cute apartment, the agents work with you and honestly all these people complaining about roaches must be dirty because i have lived here 1 year and had not one roach. The only thing I dont like is the back where I throw my trash out is not paved, and I would have rather had the dumpsters in plain view in the front. Maintenance comes when called and as long as you pay your rent, you shouldnt have any problems.
If i could give a negative number i would! My first night i had cockroaches crawl on me and my 9yo daughter and i reported it. Nothing was done. I had to personally go in and complain and still nothing was done for several days. And i still have an issue with bugs. I have glass and metal in my yard which they wont clean up so i cant use my yard. The ac cant keep up so it gets to 80deg during day. The doors and windows arent sealed so heat and bugs come in. Cops have been at my place 3x for previous tenant issues/area issues. Office people are rude. Maintenance and third party vendors coming into my place without notice. They arent open on weekends like they say so working people forget it if u have issues. I had to beg to get a lease to know what was what. And now im getting extra bills for no reason. I would say slumlords but i think that would even be too nice a word.
This company is a complete joke. In addition to lying to their loyal tenants and failing to deliver on promises, they turn around and accuse you of lying when called on their dishonesty. (They also treat tenants HORRIBLY during natural disasters. Make sure you read the full review to get that story, too.)I spoke to Gloria in the office yesterday morning. I reported a problem with my A/C unit. Since this is South Florida and its still almost 90 degrees in October, its not unreasonable to expect an A/C issue to be fixed promptly, right?Well, she told me she couldnt get someone out the same day because they have only one A/C tech to service their massive portfolio of subpar properties scattered throughout Broward Countys least desirable neighborhoods. But they would have someone out within 24 hours (in other words, this morning). So, the morning passes with nary a call or visit from the A/C tech. Then 1:00, 2:00, 2:30 come and go. At 3:00, I call the office to find out whats going on. A different person answers the phone, puts me on hold to check with the A/C tech, then comes back and says the tech came to my place this morning and knocked, but left because no one answered and he heard a dog barking inside.I explain that the tech either isnt being truthful or went to the wrong apartment because 1) Ive been home all day and awake since 7:30 this morning, and 2) I do not own a dog. The girl flat accuses me of lying and says they need to have someone inspect the apartment to make sure Im not violating the no-dog policy.Though floored by her audacity I invite her to come out and see for herself that no dog resides here. But she needs to bring an A/C tech with her because I was promised one would be here today and I dont think its unreasonable to expect a company to which Im paying way too much for a subpar apartment to uphold promises.Needless to say, an A/C tech wont be coming out today, and Im doubtful it will happen tomorrow even though the company has promised hell be out first thing. Because this is Cooper Properties, and if theres one thing you learn within a week of moving into one of their dumps, its to let anything they say go in one ear and out the other.HURRICANE IRMA STORY:My rent is due on the 15th of every month. Ive never been late with it, nor have I been anything but respectful when dealing with the landlord, office staff, and maintenance staff (who, by the way, I have to call weekly due to the deplorable condition of my unit).I left my building and headed north on September 7th due to its location less than a mile from the mandatory Irma evacuation zone. My destination, Atlanta, where I was still holed up on September 12th, also got slammed, with torrential rain, 45mph wind gusts, and hazardous road conditions. When FPLs mobile app stated I still did not have power on September 12th, I called Cooper Properties to make arrangements to pay rent. Even though its 2017, the company offers no ability to pay online. You have to drop a physical check at their office in Fort Lauderdale.I spoke to Sean on the phone, which you never want to do because its an exercise in frustration. I explained my situation -- stuck in Atlanta with bad weather/road conditions -- and asked if they would be reasonable if I paid a day or two late. After all, its a natural disaster, and were all in this together, right? And, again, they offer NO ABILITY TO PAY ONLINE, which would have made this entire situation a moot point. What was Seans response? That I get in my car, navigate the hazardous Atlanta roads, find a FedEx, and make sure my rent gets there by the 15th, otherwise Id pay a $100 late fee. He told me it was my responsibility to make it happen. So here I am, stuck in Atlanta in a downpour, no power at my apartment that I pay way too much for because it is falling apart and in terrible condition, and, thanks to Seans edict, I have to risk my safety to get my rent to Cooper Properties at all costs or else face a hefty fine. You can do better than Cooper Properties.
They get 5 stars from me, ONLY because of Vernell. Ive had some major issues with my property, but they were all fixed in a timely manner.. I don’t have anything bad to say about Cooper properties, but nothing to cheer about either. Except Vernell, she was so nice and accomdating. She showed me several properties, and was patient with me as I took my time and looked through all of the units. She made recommendations, but wasn’t pushy the way some realators can be... I think the comforting vibe from her sealed the deal for me... I’m very glad that I met her and that she recommended the unit that she did, because my dogs love having a yard to run in... and if my dogs are happy, I’m happy! Cooper properties is very BLESSED to have an employee like Vernell representing their brand. ❤️
The apartment I wouldnt continue to live in due to the maintenance that isnt kept up with it or the cleanliness thats not performed. But you do get what you pay for. But a great thing Ive liked about cooper properties is from day 1 back in March of 2013 until now Jason has made my move in easy, and now that Im in the process of subleasing (which I am not a fan of and dread the thought), just to move in closer to my job, hes gone out of his way and above and beyond to get me the paperwork I need to make it happen and answer any questions Ive had. Definitely would recommend if you are looking for a place and want to deal with great customer service who will help with anything they can, visit cooper properties leasing office. One thing I think should be changed is If a tenant finds someone to rent there apartment as is, then they should just turn the lease over to the new tenant depending on the reason why. It seems unfair that Id either have to live there and continue to drive to my new job everyday in hialeah spending about $150 per week in gas or a termination fee of 2 months rent with a 60 days notice, totaling 4 months rent just to move out....Either way I lose! At least look into tenants reasons and have them provide proof (gas receipts, pay stub of job location or letter, etc).
The property was glued together to look presentable. The 1994 air conditioner cost me thousands in JEA electric. I had to pay out of pocket for simple maintenance. The staff was unprofessional and showed as much respect to the tenants as they did the property. If you like to gamble rent from Cooper properties where the house always wins!
Ive been living in Victoria Park in what is by far the biggest 2 bedroom Ive ever seen at this price. Im really happy where I live. Overall, Cooper has been reasonably helpful whenever weve needed anything, and even transferred us from another unit. They are probably the best landlords Ive ever had, but Im also from NY where landlords dont even pick up their phones, let alone fix things for you.The bottom line is that you get what you pay for. Their apartments are WAY cheaper than anyone elses, even when you consider their locations. Youre getting a value apartment, so youre going to get value service, and value neighbors. Youre not going to get a doorman or a brand new AC. For that youre going to need to pay more buddy, this is Fort Lauderdale.
Slumlords. Unprofessional, sassy every time you call, charged me a pet fee all year then started sending men around the house to look into my windows and argue about whether or not I have one in my backyard right next to my bedroom window. Banging on the door trying to see if something would bark. The fence in my backyard was fallen over for 5 weeks before anyone did anything about it. When you call the office they are all unprofessional as their employees rotate and work off commission. Scott the property manager is the embodiment of arrogance. IF you do end up still trying to live in one of their properties get renters insurance because when the hurricane comes you cant board anything up.
The ONLY thing Cooper Properties is good at is taking all your money. If you rent from them, you can kiss every dollar of your security deposit goodbye, because they will use all of it to pay for routine maintenance. With no local or state government oversight of rental management companies in Florida, unscrupulous landlords like Cooper Properties are free to use every crooked trick in the book to gouge renters of every dollar they can. To them, you are nothing but an ATM machine.
The reviews for this place obviously are paid people who had a lil nice thing they told them to write. This is a horrible rental place to live they have numerous properties the the logo cooper properties means take your money and go F yourself, customer service horrible and nasty maintenance just disgusting and the so call emergency after hours number doesnt work, if the guy Chris who does decides to answer is low grade pot head scum bag they hired of the street... To sum it up if you want trash then by all means go ahead.
Havent had a problem up until today they always have arrived immediately to fix any issues in my apartment. However , I call early on a Friday regarding my AC not getting any lower than 90 degrees which is completely unacceptable for Florida . Needless to say nobody showed up and now Im stuck living in a Sauna until Monday comes .
Ive only been here months. Jason showed me a property that I did not like, asked me what I was looking for, then took me to just what I was looking for. what patience! Linda was very professional through the process and my follow ups. I have asked and the worst that happened was that they said no. I cant expect to live rent free. but itd be nice.
We moved down to the Ft Lauderdale area and where living in a hotel while we where looking for a suitable apartment. We finally found a apartment we both loved near Las Olas. The only problem is that is was not ready to move in to. The hotel was getting very expensive this time of year. Jason worked his magic and got us in the new apartment fast. He was a pleasure to work with and we highly recommend him.
Watch out for these S O B .they are unprofessional theives crooked . They try to tell me my unit was destroyed byMe . I never in my life wrecked other people property. There slum Lords big time .And I wouldnt put it past them that all the positive feedback is from them in the office .. DONT RENT FROMTHEM 😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠And I wouldn’t put it pass Sean to post these phonyReviews on him 😜😜😜😜😜😜
Very unprofessional. Bugs and insects swarming all over our apt. And theres something wrong with our air conditioning unit, that cooper refuses to fix. Our apt is constantly over 80 degrees in side and our electric bill is over $250 every month because the AC is constantly running and not cooling the apartment. Stay away!!!
Total slum lords they will keep the security deposit. So many people tell me horror stories about how they just got into town found this place and it was the biggest mistake of their life.Noone calls you back they just ignore realtors so they can rent the properties themselves. Then if you do get someone on the phone they are rude, I am sure angry tenants are calling them all day they are generally unhappy people who do a bad job.
NEVER RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! MOLD EVERYWHERE! I bought a at home mold test from Home Depot and found out my AC unit was COVERED in mold, they offered to clean it out but after 2 days later the whole apartment smells of mold! They refuse to change out the AC unit! Will be calling my lawyer and suing them! MOLD IS DEADLY AND ILLEGAL FOR PEOPLE TO RENT OUT PROPERTIES THAT THEY KNOW MOLD IS AT!!
I had a blessed and wonderful service from 3 most wonderful people Verdal, Shawn and Larry... I was blessed with a great apartment with the help of them... they are so amazing and heaven sent I swear... they need a huge raise... if anybody is looking for a place to call home they can help you in whatever your needs are.... I’m happy and satisfied truly❤️
Me and Family went there to look for an apartment being that we had just moved from out of town and met with Jason he is absolutely welcoming and knowledgeable about the area and properties FOUND AN AMAZING PLACE!!! DEFINITELY WOULD RECOMMEND to anyone looking for a place in Fort Lauderdale....youll be in great hands!!!!EXTREMELY HAPPY! :)
I live in their apartments for 2 years and say that this is a terrible company with poor service and rude staff. I came to him to place reservations for my new car, but they said that for a sticker on the glass I have to pay an additional 50$ !!! Despite the fact that this place is reserved for me from the moment of signing the contract. I asked my neighbor, and he said he did not pay that is paying for the label, random choose? - I dont know
I just called this property 4 times and somebody hung up in my face Everytime while Im trying to look for a apartment to rent and they were very rude and nasty I wont even waste my time looking for a place here nasty evil people DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME TRYING TO CALL OR RENT HERE SAD 😢 SMH
Terrible service, terrible properties. Basically slumlords that run places into the ground until they are sold to developers. Totally take advantage of low income renters with ridiculous fees and terrible practices. If you have the ability to rent anywhere else, do so.
I have stayed in cooper properties for 6 years and eventually after I paid my rent and received a receipt..10 mins after they called me and asked me to come back and get my rent money back and when I went back they said owner doesn’t want to renew your contract and you have to leave in 2 days or you will get ( kicked ) and this is exactly what they said which is so rude and unprofessional so plzzzz plzzzz guys stay away from this properties they so rude and unprofessional..
DO NOT RENT FROM HERE MANY MANY MANY BUILDINGS HAVE A MOLD PROBLEM!!! Someone in my building HAS BEEN IN AND OT THE HOSPITAL DUE TO MOLD ISSUES THEY NEVER FIXED. I CALLED THEM THEY CAME TO CHECK IT OUT ITS BEEN TWO WEEKS AND NOTHING! MY FRIEND ALSO RENTS FROM COOPER AND SHE HAD MOLD ON HER WALL AND THEY ONLY PAINTED IT OVER!! Crappy company !!!! YOU WILL REGRET IT

Please please please please please please do not rent from this people and i will tell you why, i was renting from them for a while and one day one of the maintenance dude was talking to my sister in law outside the apt, he told my sister in law due to they are demolishing their buildings ( old buildings ) and somebody was constructing new buildings the city of fort lauderdale was charging more taxes so they had to raise the rent everytime somebody would renew their lease , please stay out plus very rude people at the offices and forget about your deposit
Very horrible realtors rude unprofessional quick to evict or tried to take you to court for the most piteous things They change the price on me right before I signed the lease denied my service dog due to her brain which is illegal they have learnt paint a the maintenance are very lazy all around their very rude and heartless people

2022-05-13Have been here for over a year and, like most places, it has its pros and cons. Maintenance isn’t a great experience, the kitchen is small, and I’ve had several packages stolen from right in front of my door. The office staff can be hit or miss, but our leasing agent Vernell was phenomenal. My building is in a nice neighborhood with a convenient location. I see other reviews about rats and roaches, but thankfully we haven’t had any such problems in our building. Overall, it’s an “okay” apartment from an “okay” company in a wonderful area.

2022-05-11We lived in there apartments for over 5 years all of there apartments seem to be roach infested then they never sent a notice to renew our lease so on the last day of our lease we where told we had to vacate the apartment so we left.we left we had a 3000 dollar deposit which they took claiming we let the stove and refrigerator get infested charging us 1800 dollar for the both of the appliances which already where old and the refrigerator needed gaskets which we reported and wad never replaced they charged us 125 dollars of our deposit for not reporting infestation I have a video of one of the maintenance men saying the building is infested they are thieves the maintenance man also informed me they are close with the courts so it will be hard to sue them. That is believed cause when we had to go to mediation for late payment which we had all of the money to pay the mediator made sure we knew that Cooper properties lawyer is well versed in rental suits so we should not make a big fuss at a time when finding some where to live is really hard my family is paying $111 a day to not be homeless while companies like Cooper properties take money from tenants and have no repercussions I plan to further pursue this because I cant sit on my hands and let them walk away with our money. Please pray for us.

2022-05-10Liz, Kenesha, and Sean,I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you guys again for your patience, and more importantly for allowing me to renew my lease. You all went out of your way at times while I waded through fixing things. Thank you for going above and beyond with this situation. It’s important that I acknowledge my gratitude for all that you’ve done.Happy to be a Cooper Properties tenant another year,Mikela

2022-06-05Our experience with Cooper Properties was like having a friend on the “inside” that is working for you. After 2 months of looking n mostly getting disappointed one morning after leaving the other rental property I was working with, that is just across the street of Cooper Properties, I walked to Cooper n met Brianne, she careful listen to my very fast n short monologue n quickly she directed me to Sam well the rest is history, I am writing this review in my new place that is exactly what I was looking for, everything was done in a week, professional n good people. Two things I learned on the process of renting in Florida in todays time, one is dont get impress or assume a nice office w serious people are not there to scam you bc some are, and the other is stay in line of what you want it. Samuel (Sam) at Cooper Properties is your guy if you need to find the right place. Last but no least, Cooper staff are very nice people but dont get twisted bc they are first professionals n been honest never gets old. Thank You Cooper Properties Team!!!

2021-10-27Cooper apartment is one of the worse apartments in Fort Lauderdale area to have business with. They are sending people to watch your apartment all the times. If you have someone that visits you from another country, so they charge you per night, this person could be your Mom or Dad or family member; he/she cannot be sleeping with you unless they do not anyway you cannot hide that. They will charge you per day or night. My bad experience with them was after my wife had a baby because I did not report that, they sent me a letter to leave the apartment because they said too many people. I stayed in the 7 days range that they gave to me and left. It was my 3rd year and 6 months in the apartment. Even that I left on time. They are sending my name to the credit bureau for the other six months that not arrived yet and charged me over $6000. These people are terrible and it is not a good place to leave with family or invite friends to see you or leave there. It is horrible there and they were not fixing things on time if something broken.

2022-04-07Forget complaining to them they are NEVER accountable for anything wrong with their units. Roaches and rats are your room mates, and you paying for them to live rent free. The word professional is non existent. You will get your car ram sacked or if even car parts stolen, but then again the non accountability is always the main factor in their management. I care for people and their situations and hard earned money. I posting this review in hopes to save another person from my horrible experience.

2021-06-30Wonderful experience with this company.I would recommend coming here when apartment finding, the management and agents are amazing.Gal and Jessica in the leasing office are the most caring women I have experienced while looking for a place to live.I am thankful to know that there are actual people here who genuinely care for the tenants and future tenants and not just care about money. you can tell this is clearly not just a job for them they enjoy it.

2022-06-24This company is not honest. They will keep your deposit after you apply for approval and get approved. I wish i would have checked their ratings before i ever spoke to anyone there.

2021-05-18Hello world, this is my first time leasing an apartment with cooper properties and they have been beyond helpful and resourceful. I couldn’t be anymore happier with my experience with them. So far everyone is very helpful and the manager Gal is beyond amazing, and she’s been great to work with. Any issues I’ve had, have been resolved. I love them and they made leasing very easy.
