The Cabanas Law Firm is one of the best family law firms in South Florida. I contacted this firm at the last minute and they were by far the most helpful firm I have ever used during the past 15 years. They had less than 48 hours to prepare for my case. I found Cabanas Law Firm on Google search and chose them due to the excellent reviews and their location to my home. I used Cabanas to handle my Divorce case (w/ children). Hi, prior to obtaining the law office of Cabanas Law Firm I had pretty much given up and was in the process of an exit plan feeling that all else had failed in saving my home. This law firm is the most unprofessional and rude that I have ever seen in my life. First they gave me an appointment this see the lawyer for $100 upon reviewing my case he agreed to help me at the cost of $3500. That was the end of it . Every time l called the office they never returned my calls. Finally the lawyers assistant call me with a nasty attitude she told me that they cannot proceed with my case find another lawyer. I waited 3 months for nothing. I will not recommend this law firm to my worst enemy. Nasty people!

I used this law firm for a foreclosure defense. The only reason this isnt 5 stars is for one reason, the first attorney on my case left the firm and as well as the second attorney. Once Stephen Garcia-Vidal was on my case it was like a switch was flipped, he kept me informed and up to speed the whole time. Eventually after dealing with a slow opposing counsel, he was able to get both sides together to negotiate a short pay-off. The whole time working with Stephen he made sure I understood everything and always answered all my questions and concerns. Also, their offices were nice and so was everyone working there, making meetings easy going there. I will use them in the future for sure, if needed.

Great way to try and save face. Anytime I had to visit the office was for legitimate reasons regarding my case. To clarify, my lawyer left the law firm and the replacement could care less about my case that to him, was over. Luckily there is other representation you can find that will help you understand options and how to make your situation actually better and not only just taking what you are given from a so called professional.

Im not interested in anything further you might have to say.I have noticed that many reviews have exactly 11 or 12 likes in one time frame about a year ago. HMMM...This was my first and hopefully last experience with an attorney. I was charged $1296 (for which I feel I should be AT LEAST partially reimbursed) for an issue in which the attorney I was assigned advised me I had proper documentation and led me to feel confident that it could be resolved in my favor via phone calls with the opposing attorney. According to my attorney, the other attorney did not return calls to the Cabanas firm. Quite clever. My attorney used this as an excuse to explain why he could not go further. I am not an attorney but surely there are steps he could have taken to elicit a response. I tried several times to speak with Attorney Cabanas as my issue was time sensitive and I did not feel my attorney was putting forth the time or effort to properly resolve my case. However, he was not accessible as I was consistently denied the opportunity to speak with him by his legal secretary, who was lovely when asking for my credit card information and not so lovely thereafter. My case was not resolved and had negative consequences for me from which I am still financially and emotionally affected. Subsequently, Attorney Cabanas reached out to me via e-mail to inquire as to my circumstances and in my opinion, to see if I wished to continue (and spend more money) with my case. I did respond and express my concerns and never heard from him again. And...that says it all.In response to the owner: While I appreciate your response, I find it quite surprising that I received a response from the owner whom I never once had the opportunity to speak with during the time my case was in progress. Until this moment, I was unaware you were involved and will have to take your word for it. I was never advised that my case was complicated as I had a document supporting my allegation which I believed was sufficient. The opposing attorney never offered any settlement that I am aware of or a compromise most likely would have (gladly) been reached to the satisfaction of both parties.Your analogy about the doctor is, in my opinion, absurd and irrelevant. For the record, I have an amazing doctor, am in excellent health and have never been in need of surgery thank you very much. If I am ever in need, I have great insurance through my employment. I wish you the same.I did acknowledge your inquiry. However, lets be clear this was received after my case was closed. You state that You know we did the best we could. Dont tell me what I know. My opinion remains the same. You do not have to agree with me just as I disagree with you. I did not feel valued as a client and felt it was important to finally express my opinion, which is my right. Nowhere did I blame you for my predicament. Rather I looked to you for help. Furthermore, I did not write a bad review. Rather I wrote an honest review. I perceive your reply as condescending and uncaring and that is disappointing to receive from an individual in a professional service career. They are thieves. Over the 3500 retainer they charged sacredly, another thousand very month afterwards arguing the “funds” had been used on motions and things regarding the case, mind you none of this motions ever led us to court. They went back and forth with my ex husband’s lawyers until he dismissed his case altogether because it didn’t benefit him at the moment. I ended up paying over 6500 for their service, and the very last 1000 wasn’t entirely used. I asked for the refund of this over 2 months ago, and they keep giving me the runaround, telling me the check must be written, and then that it hasn’t been signed.. the following month same thing, it has to be written , and now they’re “waiting” for it to be signed.. it’s been over two months and I have yet to receive my unused funds. They literally called me when the case was going on demanding I pay the next thousand or that I would have to find another lawyer, but when I need my funds that THEY didn’t use, all of the sudden they take all the time in the world and have a million obstacles paying the money the owe me. So they charge, they threaten, but when it comes to returning your funds they’re beyond inefficient. I am so disappointed, looking for a way to formally complain about this law firm so people know.. this is a mockery. I want my money returned so I can be done and done with them. This is a poor reflection of this firm. Completely unprofessional and they take advantage of people. 6500 to never go to court??? And then not return unused funds? Poor poor poor service. Still waiting for my money. They say they’ll “call”..two months waiting for them to finally get serious and refund.. two months. We’ll see how much longer they prolong this
First time and a possible client calling the office seeking services and representation. I called the office to get some information and I was given the let me get you in for a free consultation. She said that this is why they do a free consultation to go over the case and that they can explain the cost. After I explain that I just wanted to get an idea of a range of what the service may cost. In addition, I told her that I was also in need of doing a will and that my sister would need one too. I was placed on hold and then gave me an idea of what the service will start at, which I told her, I would then go ahead and schedule the appointment, I just needed an idea, since this was all new to me. She then said that they would charge me $100 for the consult after she said it would be a free consultation. Completely changed it to you pay $100 and then if you hire the attorney it would be applied. So unprofessional! If this is how they treat a possible new client, I definitely dont want their services.

My experience with this firm from beginning to end was magical. I initially met with Mr. Cabanas and Ms. Jackie Zenon. We discussed my dilemma relating to my pre-foreclosure status and my options. Both Mr. Cabanas and Ms Zenon were very attentive, empathetic, and most importantly, knowledgeable. We decided the route of home modification. I am hesitant to leave this review since my case is closed. However, since they reached out to me to leave a 5 star review, Ill provide my honest review of my experience.On my first meeting with Mr. Cabanas, he took notes of my divorce case and his words where: your case is a slam-dunk and we should settle out of court for about $3000 to $5000, and that he personally will take care of the case. Ok, sounds good. Perfect, hired!My case was assigned to a lawyer that about two months later left the firm. This lawyer prepared the initial filings and my financial disclosure. When the lawyer left the firm, another lawyer took over the case and I am satisfied with Mr Kents work. However, we had to go over many hours reviewing again the financial disclosure since it was full of errors. For this, I believe I was double charged for the preparation of the financial disclosure documents since Mr. Kent and I had to start them from scratch again. When I inquired about getting credit for the previous lawyers work since Mr. Kent basically had to redo a lot of work, I was only credited two hours from the previous attorney, since apparently that was the effort that she put on the document. Hmm, I do not believe that for one second.Turns out that my slam-dunk case was headed to court even thought I wanted mediation. I was charged for countless hours for attorney Kents preparation for court even thought I wanted mediation. The case was later settled by mediation, so those court preparation hours where totally unnecessary and not requested by me but I ended up paying them. At this time, the fees kept piling up until I literally forced the lawyer to schedule mediation.After my first hearing at the Broward County Court, I was charged for 3 hours of attorney Kent, even thought the total court time was less than 15 minutes. When I inquired about this charge, I was told that there was two hours of travel time (to/from court). Now, Mr Kent was there already for other cases and he left after my hearing for another cases so I inquired whether I paid for the travel time for the other cases, or if the other cases were billed travel time as well. Their response was ambiguous and more like its common practice. So, that they either billed all their customer travel time for that visit, or I paid the travel time for all of them.Finally, when my property settlement document arrived at the office, I received a one sentence email from Mr Kent stating that the document was ready for pick up. I replied back saying that I will pick them up on a particular date. When I went to pick up the documents, I was handled another bill for $70 charging $35 for time Mr. Kent spent writing my email and another $35 for reading my one-sentence reply. Seriously? $70 for 10 seconds of work?I was not expecting free or cheap legal services, but common business practices towards your customers, you should have some leniency regarding what you bill. Billable hours got stacked so high that up to a point I was afraid to answer the phone or email from them because of their billing practices. This is not what a customer should feel like. At the end I payed close to $25,000 for a mediated divorce (to this firm, the mediation was payed separately). At the end, I felt like the firm was nickel and dime me.I know that legal fees are high and divorce can be expensive, but in my case, I felt that the firm took advantage of my situation and any attempts to correct the billing inconsistencies or issues got sidetracked or ignored.I will not use this firm for any other legal matters.

I wasted my money. I paid 4100 dólares for a child support process and they didnt solve anythingt for me , they only wanted more money to continue my case but I didnt have more money , so they whidraw my case without other explication , without even waiting for a response from the other party , so I never knew what said my sons father attorney regarding my case. Each word that they said to me had value in $$$$. I DONT RECOMENDED THIS PLACE TO ANYBODY. It was the worst experience that I have had.

Dont trust them because they would squeeze you for all they can get out of you after you pay them, they come up with charges and hold your court documents as ransom for money! You will see this lawyer one time, then he will not see him again! Did cannot account for the justification for every expense on the trust! They will not give you court documents unless you pay their made up invoices! Horrible people without souls!

I had an extremely bad experience with cabana’s law firm . I hired them for my divorce case after I went to their office & I saw their owner & he made it seems a piece of cake to win my case saying the whole process won’t cost more than 8k . So I gave them all the necessary original documents knowing that I went thru physical & mental abuse & my husband was a drug addict & he had a domestic violence case , plus he had his girlfriend moving in with him a year before I fill divorce (With all these documents I thought even if u don’t hire a lawyer u can win such case) They promised everything will be alright & that they will force my husband to pay all their fees later . Their fees went to 18000$ after less than 4 months of me hiring them. They didn’t bring up the drug issue claiming they are keeping it to the right moment !!!!! Then after my husband ask for a pickup order of my kids knowing that I was living in a foreign country 2 years before divorce, they asked for another 6000$ . I told them I don’t have this money, I am not working , so they said there’s nothing they can do .I Withdraw with them but When I ask them to give me my file so I can hire another lawyer , they said it’s confidential & they can’t !!! Though I gave them the original documents of pictures of abuse& dr’s medical reports & police reports .... The only solution was to settle with him in terms which was not in my favor or the favor of my kids . ALL THEY WANT Was $$$$$$I was not working when I paid all that money & I don’t work now & I am raising my two little kids on my own . That money I paid for them I could spend it on my kids 😡. I feel really really bad!!!

They have charge me an amount and said it will be a 90% that my case will be resolved $3,500.00 in and they want to ask for another 2k .. since I told them there was a agreement between me and the other party they want to widtdrawl the case . Then they have the odasity to tell me to ask a family member to let me borrow money. Also !!!!! They didn’t have an issue cAlling me every week to get the payments and and they got it then when they want you to come up with 2k and you can’t they want to drop the case .. terrible people . Worst decision ever ended up paying almost 8,000$ and without putting a foot in a courthouse just to get a bunch of paper ready $3,500 upfront and $2,960.00 later all that before steping in to the courthouse.... this people dont care about clients..... and if they reply here saying that Im not a client yes I was and i try to put the pictures of the Bill but Google does not have that option

Horrible appearance For me Opinion I felt cheated I lost almost 25 Mill dollars and at the time of the court 2 months before they weighed in to say that it was 6 Mill And Then they raised 8 Mill And for not having the money I left my case. Just by moving the papers of your case from one side to the other they charge money I would not recommend it even to my worst enemy the most horrible experience I had in my life

When you need help negotiating a credit card account, do not call this law firm, the person they have assigned to do this job is not good at it. After paying them $1,500.00 for the first call we received from her, she told us nothing could be done. My husband complained then why did they charge me that money? if they couldnt help me. He told me I will see what I do and for a couple of correspondences made via email he charged me $250.00 more. It has been the worst service we have received. And they are still sending me a bill after I paid them $1750.00 dollars. The credit representative of this law firm is called Florencia. Do not call if you have this problem because the remedy can cost you worse than the disease.

We had his full attention. He explained to my business partner and I steps in how to protect our family thru the estate planning. He went above and beyond advising us on additional business matters. 2021-12-22This all started with Jackie when I called their office. As you all know, when your dealing with these issues unless you know a lawyer or are referred to one, you can only trust Google. Its been a rough road, extremely to say the least with my case. When I spoke with Jackie she made me feel like I was already apart of their family. 2021-10-11Roxy the legal assistant, paralegal was great to work with. Very proactive, respectful, patient with my mothers difficulty to properly sign. 2021-11-02I hired Cabanas Law Firm almost a year ago and we resolved last night. After a long and grueling battle with my ex, we are finally separated and I get to move on with my new life.
