For I really really do not understand how the greater Chamber of Commerce of Fort Lauderdale responsible for the Improvement and enhancement of Fort Lauderdale... I bring into question the continued construction of high-rise so close to the Briny Pub and the surrounding Canal which to me the beauty of the canal lies in like the famous buildings from past Century to be important...So how then would you like to live next to a high-rise when you live in a house but thats exactly what theyre doing to the canal and the surrounding historic properties overwhelming it with a structure that creates a dark shadow and uncomfortable Concrete Jungle Feeling when it should be set back approximately close to the nearest Street cheat for the cover that street where theyre building it would be more appropriate just like the public parking thats for stories near the library something like that type of construction if you want to do that but dont to the canal and spoil the whole thing I just wanted to those of you who are in the Chamber of Commerce dot-dot-dot I Living For the Love of Money and not realizing that that same money you wish is the one youre using to destroy the enhancement of the same thing you desire

2022-03-15The Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce help me professionally and personally on so many level.Professionally: After the great recession our hotel needed to get connected to the existing business community and grow our corporate portfolio of clients. The chamber assisted in providing programs, services and events that open the doors for new solid connections. Just within 2 years of working the chamber membership, our corporate portfolio grew 10 fold.Personally: It is important what you know, more important who you know, but most important who wants to get to know you, said my late grandfather. The chamber provided me the opportunity to immerse myself into the chamber organization and participate in various committees and councils, even resulting becoming the 2016 Chair of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. The chamber made me a better leader. In my opinion every business should be a member of their local chamber of commerce as their return of investment will come from their involvement in the business community.

2019-05-30I moved my business to Fort Lauderdale in 2016 and, when I arrived, I was told that I should check out the GFLCC to see if it was the right place for me to network. The moment I reached out to them, I was helped. I met people, went to events, and became involved in various committees. I even got a client right away from my first luncheon! The secret to success at the Chamber, as well as ALL networking groups, is you have to be active and involved for it to work. The GFLCC is a great place to meet like-minded business people and business owners who will get to know you and TRUST you, over time. That means more business opportunities if you show up and earn the trust.Everyone I know who joined and became actively involved has benefitted from their membership. Its a great organization - and every individual can make a difference. If you have local or regional issues to talk about, I suggest you JOIN and get your voice heard!

2019-05-30I have been an entrepreneur for decades. GFLCC is a professional conduit for exchange of business, education, governmental and cultural involvement. The members contribute experience and expertise to other members. With a membership of over 1200 business people our choices are extensive. The staff is very responsive and knowledgeable helping all to better their businesses and community. A very friendly and effective organization.

2019-06-03My company, S.MARK Graphics, relocated from Chicago to Fort Lauderdale in 2001. I immediately joined the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce and have been a member for the past 18 years. Its true when they say -- the more you put in, the more you get out. Get involved with this great Chamber and good things will come to you. Start by joining the Chamber, pick several events to attend each month and join a committee or two. Its all about creating and nourishing relationships. The Chamber makes it easy if you just get involved!

2018-09-21I stopped by the Ft Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce with the co-founder of the Erin Brockovich Foundation (Erin is the other co-founder) to talk to someone - anyone - about the green and yellow toxic drinking water going to a quarter million residents, hotels and cruise ships. Nobody would meet with us and nobody returned our calls. Fine. Ill just go onto social media and explain how hotels are lying to guests about our water thats unfit to drink 10 weeks out of the year. Ammonia is dumped into our drinking water. This is illegal to do in the whole state of Tennessee because of how bad it is for people. And it corrodes water lines.
