Ive never had a Dr with more horrible bedside manner than this one. He literally insulted my weight which had 0 bearing on my husbands needs-he was the patient. Not to mention saying Ive not been a good support system and saying my husband had body dysmorphia. Nothing could be further from the truth. Trying to cover up for his colleague-buddy who screwed up the first surgery. Thank God we found a caring surgeon further away who fixed the issue. I would recommend caution to anyone considering going to this Dr. Already consulted my attorney.
My husband has had issues with inflammation, nothing really helped! Dr. Piorkowski suggested we change our diet to help with the inflammation! It’s been Six weeks since we started the cave man program, 25 lbs lost, inflammation improving.Just a simple life change.Thanks, Dr.P
Dr. Piorkowski did an outstanding job removing a large neuroma at the end of my amputated leg. This neuroma had kept me from being able to stand or walk with my prosthetic leg. I had been to see a number of specialist and they would shrug their shoulders. After my 5th MRI, Dr. Piorkowski immediately spotted a cloudy area in exactly the same place the sharp pain occurred. He explained to me that the nerve endings, after being cut, would sometimes gather in clump. Being gathered, instead of spread out, the nerve endings would deliver very sharp pain when agitated. After 2yrs and all the other specialist Dr. Piorkowski had found the cause and stated that he felt it was operable. I was so happy to know that I wasnt crazy. The operation was a success. I am currently going through physical therapy and I am doing well. The good doctor has changed my life for the better!
Dr. Piorkowski and his staff were wonderful to deal with. My son had a wrist injury from baseball and was able to be seen quickly when we got back into town. All of the staff were pleasant!
I was completely pleased with the speed, efficiency and professionalism I received during the entire process of my appointment. The attention to detail and the clean spacious environment was top notch. I am thankful to be able to have the opportunity seek help from such a complete operation.
On our first encounter with Dr. Piorkowski, we thought that he wasnt very attentive, and rushed thru the process. After a few visits, that changed. He spent more time explaining the process and he answered all the questions we had. My husband had carpal tunnel surgery on both hands and elbows, 3 months apart. The surgery went well, with minimum scaring. I would recommend Dr. P because he did an awesome job. We are very happy we chose him.
After years of pain due to RA, steroid injections and pain meds. Dr P. discovered my bone at the base of my thumb had desegregated. He tried to do the least invasive surgery using a tendon to try and keep my thumb in place. After months of physical therapy we realized that the tendon wasn’t strong enough to hold my thumb in place. He went back to the drawing board and performed a second surgery, using pins, rods and in layman’s terms a piano wire to make my thumb useable again. He is a very knowledgeable, sincere and professional surgeon. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone that is having any hand problems seek him out. Dr Piorlowski @ The Hand Center. Everybody was real nice and pleasant. Wait was not long.PA and DR were very knowledgeable about my case. They presented an understandable diagnosis. The plan they gave me for recovery is easy to follow.
Saw Dr. P very close to my scheduled appointment time. He quickly assessed my issue and briefly discussed carpal tunnel surgery and provided his cell phone number so I can contact him prior to the scheduled surgery.

Office claimed to be unable to forward prescription to NHP pharmacy which resulted in extra expense and inconvenience for me as a patient- poor. My primary care physician is a small independent doctor and has no problem. Your supposed inability is a disservice to all retired military.
First time with this Dr. I appreciated his speaking the truth! Im very pleased with everything that Dr. Piorkowski has done for me! He has said several times that this was a very hard fix. In my opinion he has my highest respect and is a 10 in my book!

Dr Piorkowski has worked diligently providing excellent care to make sure that surgery was a last resort option. At the same time also working with an uninsured patient on a blue collar budget. This was my first time at this doctor’s office . The staff was helpful with my questions. The Doctors & nurses keep the process moving. My doctor explained my arm problem and what needed to be done. Everyone was courteous and the atmosphere was professional but relaxed.
I had a rather difficult case and was highly satisfied with what Dr. Piorkowski was able to do for me. He went above my expectations and for that I am truly thankful. I was extremely blessed visiting Dr Piorkowski, Dr Charles, and all of the staff. The visit was my first and the experience was beyond words they worked so well with us and had so much patience and compassion with assisting and helping us in everyway so that we received the care needed. I had previously had surgery at Sacred Heart Hospital I got my right leg amputated. The surgery left me where I couldn’t wear a prosthetic and I was in pain. I got referred to Dr. Piorkowski to do a revision surgery So I would be able to walk again. Dr. Piorkowski Then took on the task of Another doctors mistake. He revised my stump and was so helpful and caring and knew what he was doing. I’d refer him to anyone I know. He can do just about whatever you need! Thanks Dr piorkowski!!! You have changed my life drastically I’m now able to walk and live a normal life!! Thank you for all your help you are one in a million!!!!
Dr. Piorkowski & the staff are most efficient, courteous & professional. My diagnosis (carpal tunnel syndrome) was clearly explained as was the procedure necessary to correct the problem. My wife was given regular updates throughout the process & was given a call from Dr. Piorkowski when the procedure was finished. I am now 11 days post-op & healing nicely. I am already noticing improved strength function of the affected hand. I’m a musician & had completely lost the ability to play so I’ve already put that to the test with a better outcome than I expected. Finally, Dr. P gave us his personal cell number & made himself available 24/7 if I had problems or questions. I give the 5 stars!

I was referred to Dr. Piorkowski for a complicated issue with my left arm that involved an uncommon bone spur and the compression of 2 nerves in multiple places. I consulted with Dr. P since he had direct experience with my specific issue (it’s not common) and found out he also is experienced working with patients on biologic drugs and with autoimmune conditions. I felt confident that he was more than competent to perform the surgery I needed in addition to managing my biologic medication during the post-operative period. My confidence was not mis-placed! Dr. Piorkowski did a flawless job in the operating room, my surgical results were best case scenario and the post-operative care I received was thorough. He kept me in therapy and followed up with me longer than usual due to the complicated nature of my case and I appreciated that very much. The extra time allowed me to get even stronger under the care and supervision of the wonderful OT department at Andrews. I also appreciated having his cell number in case I had questions or concerns throughout my time with him. I felt this was a very nice personal touch and helped me feel connected if I had a need for help or any questions. I did have a couple of questions after the surgery and he responded quickly each time I texted. I highly recommend Dr. Piorkowski, I would recommend him to my friends and family members if needed and would personally see him again if the need ever arises! Thank you Dr. Piorkowski!
This is a doctor who remains your doctor after you leave the office. Tis a rare breed. He is very knowledgeable and displays a refreshingly direct, clear communication style without being condescending.
Dr. Piorkowski is one of the kindest human beings I have ever met. I went to him when I was in a really tough situation. I was a first time mom and had broken my hand when I tripped over my infant’s baby gate. I felt embarrassed for being so clumsy, and desperate because I needed to care for my baby. His matter-of-fact manner and expertise was very calming, and he came up with a healing plan that worked for my situation. Throughout the process he and his staff were so generous and accommodating. His plan worked perfectly, and I was back to normal in no time. If I could give this doctor 10 stars I would. He deserves it.

Had such an informative and pleasant experience in Dr. Piorkowskis office. There is a very sincere, knowledgeable staff that are very thorough. I was given a detailed yet understandable description of what my treatment will be. Knowing there is a plan set by an experienced team has eased my concerns about my care.
This is the most positive experience Ive had with a physician, and Ive been to several specialists. Dr. Piorkowski examined my hands and diagnosed the problems Id been having with them for the past few years, but that wasnt good enough for him, he continued to probe and ask questions until he figured out all the issues with my hand, wrists, and tennis elbow and developed a diagnostic and probable treatment plan. I would most highly recommend him to anyone with issues in their hands and wrists.
I went to Dr. Piorkowski expecting to just get a cursory glance, a little prodding, and then a cortisone shot for pain in my arm Ive dealt with for over a decade. He ACTUALLY listened to me, and worked to figure out the problem rather than slapping a bandaid (literally and figuratively) on the problem. He explained everything he was doing really well, from what he thought was the issue to why he was doing certain tests.Ultimately, the decision was made to go the surgery route. Im HEAVILY tattooed, and surgery is always a fear with tattoos. You can BARELY tell I had surgery. He went through one of my more delicate linework pieces and lined it back up PERFECTLY.Highly recommend. Great doctor, and great person. Office staff was wonderful as well.
I knew I had a problem with my elbow and it wasn’t hurting the day I went to have a steroid injection. After being seen by Dr. Piorkowski he asked me if I wanted to be in pain for the rest of my life? Of course I said no, so he will do surgery to fix the problem. The staff were very nice too.
I broke my right hand index finger back in September and I went to Dr. Piorkowski and he was swift to understand exactly what the problem was and made sure that I had the best care and clinical help all the way up until the surgery. And then on the surgery day he talked to me before guiding me through exactly what was going to happen and easing me all the way up to my surgery calming me down because it was my very first actual surgery, and after it was a complete success. And then all of my follow up appointments went smooth and he did a perfect job with the surgery to where I had a full recovery within a few months and now all the work that needs to be done is just strengthening test.

He was so wonderful and fast. I do not have medical insurance and he worked with on the payment. I lost the tip of my finger and he fixed it up and made of look better. I still got to keep part of my nail so I will have a small nail but its better than losing that whole tip knuckle. Hes very understanding about the pains and made sure I was comfortable. My finger is healing great!!! Amazing dr !!
To start I’ve been an RN for many years so I have good basic knowledge of orthopedic surgery. The examinations with the doctor were very thorough and conducted professionally. He took plenty of time with me and answered all my questions. During our visits, what impressed me the most was he would dictate the visit while I was in the exam room. After all testing was finalized we came up with a treatment plan. I needed open carpal tunnel and trigger finger release in both hands. I had the right hand operated on first and it is stronger than ever, pain free, and no numbness or tingling. I will have the left hand done on Monday and I feel strongly that I will have the same results. I recommend Dr Piorkowski for anyone who is needing orthopedic surgery of the hands and or the arms.
Dr. Piorkowski and his staff are awesome! He is an excellent surgeon. He made me feel well taken care of during a scary episode with me left elbow. He stayed in touch with me during my entire hospital stay. I am doing well now thanks to his care. I wish all physicians were as ethical and caring as he is.
I came to Dr. Piorkowski with a broken ulna and radius. He did surgery and provided excellent follow up. He was always available to answer questions and even provided his personal cell phone number in case of problems or concerns. He was immediately responsive. He coordinated therapy that assisted in my recovery. Hes very well trained. Several other physicians have commented favorably on his competence and excellent training. I feel very fortunate to have him as my physician.
The doctor gave me his cell phone number and at first I thought to myself sure. As days went by I became apprehensive and worried even stressed with fear about the surgery so much that I was truly considering opting out. So I text the doctor. Right away he called me back and was so humble and considerate. He made me feel so much better not only about the surgery but about myself. We must have talked for 30 minutes. I have decided I need to go home to Louisiana so that I can get the assistance I need from my family but not before doctor piokowski operates on me. He is my surgeon. I respect him and trust him and wouldn’t consider using anyone else.
You can not find a better or more caring surgeon. I was referred by another great surgeon, Dr Roger Ostrander, because of Dr. Pirokowskis extensive training, multiple skills and knowledge. To be a hand specialist he had extensive knowledge and experience with repairing acromion bones. The repair has been perfect and with everything that was going against it healing, I can not praise Dr. Piorkowski enough and of course I praise the Master physician for the wisdom and skills my good Lord granted to Dr. Piorkowki. He is a great surgeon in my opinion, he is also caring and thoughtful, always returning my texts and calls himself. He was straightforward from the beginning with my odds of healing, as was others, and his skills allowed me to beat the odds. He is my orthopedic surgeon going forward, unless he refers me to someone else.

Though I wasnt with my son for his appointment he did tell me that he really liked the doctor. Said the doctor was very cool and he felt like he had been friends with him forever. Doc made him feel very comfortable and he said he was probably the nicest doc hes ever been too.
Dr. Piorkowski went over and beyond to provide the most compassionate and exceptional care. His staff did not hesitate in having her seen immediately, where other facilities gave times of weeks to months. The staff were just as wonderful as he was, ensuring Paige received the upmost care. Dr. Piorkowski is a wonderful example of how physicians should care for their patients. This all being said from a critical care nurse.
I believe they are very knowlegeable and efficient. I especially like that Dr. Piorkowski dictates into his device while it types what he says. I know he sees and can immediately correct any mistakes in dictation interpretation. I feel I am getting the best quality medical care. I would like to leave there with a piece of paper with the medical procedure name that I will be receiving so I can research it before procedure.
I was referred to see Dr. Piorkowski from my primary care manager doctor and I have been very pleased to meet with him and to have recently been successfully operated on my right hands carpal tunnel. I have discussed with Dr. Piorkowski how comfortable I am and very confident to have an excellent Pain Management doctor and to also choose to consult specialists doctors in order to maintain and achieve a better quality of life with my current pain. His professional relationship to include his superior respect for his colleagues professional expertise and advices at Andrews Institute and Baptist Medical is what inspires me to continue to be treated and cared for by my pain management doctor because I truly value and believe in working together when a patient is comfortable and has trust in his/hers doctors.
The staff is wonderful, Friendly and outgoing. They run on time and never have made me wait for an appointment more than 5 minutes which is unheard of. Dr. Pirokowski is great. He will go out of his way to explain things until you understand them. He is not pushy and does not push surgery which is a good trait for a surgeon.

Lost a finger on a boating accident while on vacation and he was the emergency hand surgeon on call. He saved what was left of my finger and kept infection out. He gave me his personal cell phone to contact him after I went home so I could send him pics of the process. I actually drove back 5 hrs. so he could do my follow up visit and take stitches out. Doesn’t sugar coat it, tells you like it is, and exactly how to take care of it. Very proactive. Phenomenal hand doctor!!!!
Dr. P is an expert at what he does. I was in the process of being treated by another ortho with Baptist that was going to involve two surgeries. Out of the blue, I was contacted by Dr. Ps office and was told he could do it with one surgery. I dont know how he found out about me, but Im so glad he did. Thank you Dr. P.

Great experience with Dr. Piorkowski. Came in with a bowling injury to my pinky finger joint and he was very knowledgeable about therapy to avoid hand surgery. He is very to the point on what needs to be done to get you on the road to recovery. Highly recommend

Dr. Piorkowski is a great doctor who will see you through until the end. Any doctor that gives you his cell phone number on your first visit and then returns a text with a personal call is good in my book. He is presently helping me get though some complications in my left hand from a bad break that led to Lymphedema and some damage to my left hand.
Had a workmans comp claim for my right ring finger which would lock up if I tried to make a fist. I was referred to this doctor because this is his specialty. One visit, then a quick follow up and the matter was resolved. Everyone was very professional and I would highly recommend his services. Very thorough and knowledgeable...the way I like it. No surgery required.
Best hand surgeon, i dropped a pyrex dish that resulted in having what he calls a spaghetti wrist meaning i cut all tendons and nerves in my wrist. He repaired all tendons and nerves in my right wrist on 4-24-20 , my recovery has been long yet miraculous. He himself calls me a medical mystery, considering i cut all my nerves and tendons, i could have lost all feeling and motor skills in my hand rendering it basically useless,but big thanks to Dr.piorkowski i have full function of my right hand. I can write in cursive, i can cook, clean, drive, and do everything i did before my incident.

I thought there was no hope left for my elbow and that was not the case. Almost 6 years with dealing with my elbow 3 surgeries before DR. Piorkowski. He did the final surgery i had and now i could not be more happy. There was a light at the end of the tunnel with my elbow. I high recommend DR. Piorkowski!

Dr. P is a miracle worker. He did a bilateral ultrasound-directed CTR release and an ulnar nerve release all at the same time. Surgery was quick and recuperation time was minimal. I am blessed to have had him as my surgeon.

After crushing the joints on two fingers in a sporting accident I was fortunate to receive care from Dr James Piorkowski at Andrews Institute in Gulf Breeze Florida. Using state of the art imaging equipment and surgical techniques Dr Piorkowski and two other hand specialist colleagues collaberated to determine the best coarse of treatment. Dr Piorkowski took the time to explain various treatment options and the advantages of the dynamic external fixation procedure that was concideredto be the best option for my injuries.The surgeons, staff and administrative personnel at Andrews were all very professional and I highly recommend them for othopedic care.

Dr. Piorkowski is following me regarding a hand condition, Dupuytrens condition. He is very familiar with the condition and my condition is still fairly mild. He also treated me for wrist pain that is not related to the former condition. I have been pleased with his care.

2022-05-04Dr. P is truly amazing! His staff is friendly and efficient as well. Dr. P cares about his patients and makes the whole experience very personalized and lets you know he’s always available if you need him. He is so talented and I got relief immediately following surgery (literally while still in recovery, I was able to feel 3 fingers I’d had no feeling in for over a year). Recovery was super easy and I’ve had amazing results! I could not possibly recommend anyone more! Thank you, Dr. P for always taking care of me (and my dad!). You’re the best!

2022-04-08I was referred to Dr. Piorkowski for left hand pain. I just moved to Cantonment in January from Charleston, SC. I had been treated by a hand surgeon for over 25 years whom I had the highest regard for in Charleston. I must admit I didn’t think I would find another one that could fill Dr. Price’s shoes. The office staff was extremely nice. Dr. Piorkowski was great! He has a great bedside manner, extremely understanding, easy to communicate with and not pushy regarding having surgery right away. I am extremely overjoyed to find such a talented physician and would highly recommend Dr. Piorkowski!!

2022-07-13Dr. P and his staff are amazing. I love that they actually listened to me and did not just diagnose me. I feel like I matter and my opinion matters in my treatment. Dr. P is great at explaining whats going on and why in a way all his patients can understand. He adjusts well to his audience. If you need a hand surgeon ( I hope you dont though) I dont think there is a better Doctor or nurse staff out there.

2022-02-07I had knee surgery a few months ago. This incision on the side of my leg wouldn’t heal no matter what we tried. My doctor referred me to Dr. Piorkowski for wound care and I’m glad she did.Dr Piorkowski was amazing every step of the way. He was extremely knowledgeable and explained every step of the treatment plan and reason for what they were doing. Within 2-3 weeks of seeing him a wound that had given us grief for nearly 2 months was completely healed. What I thought was going to end up being an huge ugly scar looks about what a normal incision would be. He gave me his personal cell phone number so I could send pictures and ask questions about the wound as I treated at home between appointments. He responded promptly and answered any question I had.I’m a extremely grateful to Dr. Piorkowski and his team. Take my word for it when I say you are getting the best of the best.

The staff were friendly and efficient and the doctor was thorough and had a great bedside manner and took great care of my broken elbow. He took the time to show me on the x-ray where it is broken and what I can expect for the healing process and how to help the process of healing go more smoothly. I highly recommend this doctor to anyone needing orthopedic care.

In Gulf Breeze and even those who work beside him in Pensacola are wonderful and caring servants to their positions. I have never been disrespected at any giving time. 2022-05-21I had an appointment with Dr Piorkowski for removal of a Pyogenic Granuloma on Thursday the 19th of May. He and his staff were great. Due to the severity of my condition, he decided that I would need surgery for the removal. I was scheduled and received surgery the following day. After waiting months for referrals and follow ups from my provider, the rapid response from the Doctor and his office was phenomenal. I highly recommend him and and his great staff. Thanks again to them and the great staff at the Andrew’s Institute!

2022-06-02Dr P is the best. We have been dealing with him for about 2 years now. Started with dealing with a finger issue were he had to remove the tip of the finger until he could get it to heal due to being a diabetic. He just did carpal tunnel surgery so I can try and get feeling back in my fingers so he doesnt have to remove anymore. Lol! He is very easy to get in touch with when a problem comes up even on the weekends. We love him and his staff theyre the best.
