When I drove into King’s Kamp, I initially thought it was a little “threadbare”… Like it had seen one too many storms and that RV’rs are packed in a bit tightly. But, then I realized that this is some pretty pricey real estate and the prices here are the lowest you’re going to find in the Florida Keys. What really sold me was seeing a sunset on Florida Bay. My travel trailer was no more than 50 feet from the water. What a view to open the door to in the morning. So, I realized that if I wanted perfectly groomed grounds, I could go down the road and pay $200+ a night. Here, I was paying $1220 a month. So, it’s a no-brainer! I have already advised other people I’ve met in the RV community to come here. The bathrooms are always clean and generally well-maintained. The laundry facilities could use some improvement. For one, they’re a bit pricey and far too often ate my quarters and turned out to be out of order. This is a minor gripe at worst. The two people that I met there were Ruth and Margaret. Both are terrific people and both have a great personalities and senses of humor and will help you with any need. (Ruth, I hope your arm is healing well!!)I’m coming back next year for 6 months and will probably continue to come back here until the borders open up with various countries, so I can travel abroad. So, all in all, five stars across the board for this place!!! I love it here!!
BEWARE!!!We booked our reservation weeks in advance. Showed up after driving 22 hours and Ruth cancelled our reservation without giving us our deposit back. I was horrified! My husband is diabetic and disabled and goes no where without his dog, we also had our 75+ year old mother with her companion dog. Ruth said she asked if we had dogs when we reservered the campsite. She did not,, however she must have checked that we did not have dogs because when she checked our reservation card it said we didnt. We chose this place because it was dog friendly!!! BEWARE They will lie and put you out with no regrets. Everything else in town was booked, had to go 45min.away.
Im rating as a tent camper. It says RV for a reason. Unless your tent has a mother ship forget it. It is a very crowded packed in RV camp. Also, the bathrooms on site say Tent campers only but I observed several RV locals using. It a problem as there are often long waits. Lastly, be prepared you visit a bathroom late at night. If left unlocked you may just find a homeless person inside. I did.
A friend and I reserved a spot on April 2nd and 3rd 2021. When we got they noticed we were two men and said we couldnt have two tents on one site. If we put up two tents we would be asked to leave immediately. She pretty much said if we didnt like it we couldnt find nothing any cheaper anywhere. They fly an American flag that is tattered tore up and stuck around a flagpole. They dont have a light on it at night.
This place is magical, the grounds are immaculate, the office staff was very friendly and attentive. We took our jet ski and they were able to accommodate space for us on the dock. We saw lots of fish, sea-rays and even a manatee right off the dock. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Only 5 minutes away from John Pennekamp Park where you can book a snorkeling tour that takes you to see you the Jesus underwater statue. Highly recommend.
Originally had an issue but management followed up with me and resolved it. Very kind. I really appreciate them working with us as we have a unique pet situation. Plus we were trying to get dates during the holidays! Small spaces but it’s the keys and you’re right on the water! What more can you ask for?
I stayed here in a tent during Christmas with friends from 12/20- 12/26. Let me just say, this place is excellent! Wonderful people work here and the regular campers that come here every year are great people. Pricing was excellent. Location 5 stars. Vibe 100%. Wi-Fi worked GREAT! Bathroom facilities were cleaned multiple times daily and were fresh and clean. This is my new spot in to camp in Key Largo. I also brought a small inflatable boat. There is a great marina right on premises with all the amenities you would need. Highly recommended!!
I had one of the best times of my life when I stayed here! I was supposed to stay 3 nights but added another night cause I just didnt want to leave! I fished off the dock, rented a paddleboard and paddled down to Rowells Waterfront Park (you can paddle right past Sundowners and Jimmy Johnsons and pull up for a cocktail or cold beer) cooked a big salmon filet on the grill outside my room, and watched some beautiful sunsets. Everyone was super nice, Ruth even lent me her personal cooler since i had forgot to bring one! Ray and the cleaning person were also very friendly. If you are looking for luxury you will be disappointed, but if you like a clean, quiet, friendly, laid-back environment of grateful, helpful, and happy people then you will fit right in! I know I did! See yall next year!
Absolutely loved it here! We had problems with our reservation at another campground and ended up here with very short notice. The staff was extremely friendly. Beautiful beach here and great fishing. Family friendly in a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely return again.
After 10 yrs of camping here we have had enough of the poor service on the phone and in person. They have poor at best customer service. No one here likes to return a phone call or even give a smile. The small dirty rooms are blamed on the owner. Their pet policy changed every trip, now they are NOT pet friendly. A hard self evaluation is due. We will NOT return and will NOT recommend others to stay. If you’re looking for a nice, clean and friendly place in paradise to stay this isn’t it. There are too many other spots down there to stay. Just google the lower keys.
This past weekend was my second time staying at Kings Kamp, great location for what I do (I organize kayaking outings), sunsets are spectacular and I love its proximity to Adams cut, and the staff is very friendly, however: the place seems to atract the worst people of Miami, my neighbor had an halogen spot light directed at my camper and played reggaeton until midnight, there was a truck parked on my site when I arrived and took about two hours to find the owner....I had a hard time parking my camper in that site, two out of three toilets were clogged (not the staffs fault) and the one that was not clogged....didnt have toilet paper. I really want to love the place, has an unbeatable location, but the human aspect of it is deplorable.I guess my review is about the visitors, not the place. The place and staff are awesome.Would I come back? Absolutely!!
Worst experience ever. The staff is rude and never explained rules that went along with keeping my waverunner with trailer on the property, they said that i should have asked? I asked for my money back because of all the conditions that where never explained i was not able to camp on the property and they denied me a refund. I was also spoken to very disrespectfully by 3 different staff members who made me feel unwelcome. I never wright reviews but felt compelled to share my awful experience and woruldn’t wish this on anyone. Stay somewhere else!!!You can see the Arrogance in the employees by the way they reply to people online. Much worse in person. very unprofessional. Stay anywhere else but this place. Not sure youre aware but you people work in the hospitality industry and good attitude and manners are necessary.
Stayed with our 35ft pulling a 20ft trailer was given a spot at the end of the park, had to break down everything before entering the park. The driveway is very very small. Another couple left didn’t even try. Was not given the washroom code good thing the cleaning gal was cleaning in the am so we could shower. The cable box required a 50ft cord had to go purchase one in order to use the one given to barrow was broken. On the flip side the maintenance attendant was very helpful.
An affordable place to stay with good sunset views and places to watch for fish off the docks. Probably a great place to stay with an RV but not so good for tent campers. The tent sites are the same as RV sites and you cant drive stakes in to the ground to secure the tent, so beware if the wind picks up. We were not told the bathrooms required a key code for access and were not given the code at check in, so we had to drive to a gas station in the middle of the night to use a bathroom the first night. The biggest problem for tent campers was that the road is SO LOUD all night long. It definitely will wake you up at least a few times each night, so bring some earplugs. Overall somewhere thats fine to stay for a few nights if you just need somewhere affordable to lay your head at night while in Key Largo.
First time Rv ing and we had a wonderful experience. Ruth in the reservations department was a tremendous help and very patient answering all our newbie questions. Mike was a lifesaver helping us setup and showing us how things are done. While the park itself does not have many amenities, it did have exactly what we were looking for. Those views were just SPECTACULAR!!!! We will definitely be back soon.
Camped there. The bathrooms were clean. Full hookup and had lodges. Great place for fishing! Caught my first fish there! There are also iguanas. Careful with crocodiles! If the owner is reading this, you need to make sure you talk about crocodiles in your website. I had an encounter, and it was scaaarrrrryyyy!
Stayed at the Conch House Cottage and my wife and I loved it!!! Literally steps to the water and had no problem launching my 25 ft. boat with trailer parking right next to the cottage...just cannot beat watching the sunsets from the porch or dock....had hose and water right there to flush my motors when I pulled the boat out...you also get private dock right next to the cottage for your boat....Awsome!!! great rates, great people...felt like old Florida in the cottage with modern conveniences...just a great place to stay...am booking it again next month....
I was looking for RV spots to stay and always read the views for little tips. I have NEVER seen a ANY company post a clients phone number, let alone ADDRESS with their NAME!! How dangerous for this person and family. Such an invasion of privacy. Regardless of their review, Kings Kamp RV, YOU are such an irresponsible company to publicly post such information. I would never stay here for this reason alone. Others BEWARE!!
Best bang for the buck in Key Largo. If you want a nice room at a good price you will leave there saying, I am so grateful I stayed in a down home RV camp environment and saved lots of money. We saw the most beautiful sunset that we have ever seen in our lives while there. Plenty of places to sit and eat or whatever and enjoy.
I would not even give this place 1 star. We will not be coming back. We got here and our site was taken so they had us in a spot that wasnt even a site. The next mourning they put us in a spot that was all gravel knowing we where in a tent. We still got charged for full price on a site that wasnt even a site. The only thing was they changed us a little under half price for the second night when it should have been free for the inconvenience. Lastly I couldnt take a shower all weekend long due to NO HOT WATER or pressure. Find somewhere else to stay!!!!
Ive been going to Kings Kamp for several years now and have always had a pleasant experience. The rooms are clean and comfortable. They have a small private beach area. Its relaxing and tranquil. Close to many great restaurants and shopping. Wouldnt stay anywhere else.
My family and I have visited Kings Kamp on a number of occasions and had a lovely experience each time. The camp site is well maintained. We have stayed in the apartments on the site and they are always clean. The staff is also very friendly and attentive. I would easily recommend Kings Kamp to family and friends.
This is a beautiful park. Great views, extremely nice people, good wifi, and plenty of activities. The small beach is a great place to lounge and relax, snorkel, paddle, and you can fish from several docks for snapper, jacks, sea trout, and tarpon. Its right on blackwater sound, a nice body of water. The sunsets at night are better than in Key West. Its accessible to grocery stores and other shops and not far from the mainland at all, but still an island environment. And, its the best deal on prices we found. This place is hard to beat.
We stayed at the Pink Conch House at Kings Kampground. It was a beautiful setting. Very restful, stress-free. It was clean, located near good restaurants, Publix is down the road for you to get groceries. There is a outdoor BBQ grill to cook. Our friend had a boat and we were able to quickly go out water skiing and fishing. It was a great weekend in the keys and would definitely recommend Kings Kampground.
Kings Kamp has become my favorite getaway spot. It is perfect for fishing, boating, and watching the sunset. I have enjoyed every minute we have stayed on property here, and I look forward to the next time. I highly recommend this location to anyone traveling to the Key Largo area.
My first stay @ Kings Kamp was not the best which I posted, the owner Gino read it and called me. Apparently the Kamp is /was doing renovations . Ill be heading back soon and plan on stopping in at Kings Kamp. Certainly do appreciate the show of concern. The Gulf side of the camp was beautiful
Great rv park. I normally stay on a seasonal status, for about a month or two. The staff is amazingly friendly and always willing to help. The marina is great with a well made ramp for easy access to the water. I love to kyak around the bay it is relaxing and you get great scenery. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the florida keys or miami natives.
We stayed one night in Jan 2010 here and had a spot directly by the bay (54). The staff is friendly and the facilities are ok (one shower only, though). Not a lot to see around here. The Marriott next door has a restaurant and a dive shop is close by.Was well worth the 60$ we paid.
Not a good experience.... what we paid for was NOT what we got.... paid WAY to much to stay in a mobile home park which is what this place is....We paid to be ON THE BEACH... ended up next to a mobile home trailer on a small cement pad.... which by the way had LIVE exposed electrical wires sticking up out of the ground.... very dangerous!I would NOT recommend this place to anyone with children.......Their web site IS NOT ANYTHING WHAT THIS PLACE LOOKS LIKE..... Won’t be coming back here EVER.... Do your research people before you come.We couldn’t find anyone in a camper around us that would give this place 4.3 stars.... that’s sad.... several people traveled much farther than we did to be disappointed
REVIEW UPDATED 7/23/2016 In response to Kimp Kamp post to my review. We were at King Kamp for 3 days (Friday-Saturday). On the second day another camper came along and park next to ours. It was way to close and block the whole Ocean View they advertised and we paid for. I paid to get Ocean View and it didnt go that way. I got a Camper View instead. I could literally see the other people inside theirs and no room at all. They were supposed to park in an angle not blocking the view but they did. I went to the office and the lady in charge told me Those are the challenges you come across... Seriously?. Why pay extra for Ocean View when youre not getting it?. The office was a complete mess not organized and the bathrooms were dirty. Also they never picked up their phone or reply to my voicemails to let me know what site number I was assigned until the day of the trip because I sent multiple emails to find out. A whole month to find out what my site was, ridiculous. The laundry room had old washers, dryer machines and one of them was out of service. Nothing up to date in this location. The entrance was also confusing so beware of that. I was hoping to have a good experience as a first time at this location but it didnt happen. The place is not that big and I would suggest to get any of the other spaces where you could have more room instead of Ocean View. The water is very close anyway. Shame on this business, SHAME!.--Update to King Kamp in response to what the owner posed-- 7/23/2016You had your other camper next to mine way too close when your map clearly shows the other spot in an angle and people can go to trip advisor to look at pictures. Theres evidence of how you had your place setup and how inconvenient is for people who pay for water front view. Dont come across like youre trying to make me look bad. You sent me an email asking to remove the review first before giving me 30% back. You dont want a bad review? Then do your job! Congrats, now you went from 2 stars to 1. I wish we could post pictures here. PS: I can post the whole conversation we had on email if thats what youre looking for so people can see. This is what you replied to my email:-------------In that regard, to show our good will when you return to Key Largo we would like to offer you a discount of 30% off of a stay of 3 nights if you will reconsider your review and maybe speak of some of the highlights of Kings Kamp or better yet, please consider removing it altogether immediately.------------With the following conditions:You will remove you review from Google and any other website you placed it on.you will tell me what other sites you placed any review so that I may verify.you will do this first, before we mail our check so that we can confirm the reviews have been removed. Once I personally confirm this hasbeen done, you agree not to place another review of any kind about Kings Kamp on the internet again. If you are concerned that I may not send you the check, you always have the ability to place a review in the future, so you should have no doubts as to our agreement.I will await your replythank youGino F Angella, Kings Kamp------------
Changed pricing on me 3 times up to and including when we got there after driving all night. Gave us a boat slip she had already rented that you could barely get your boat out at low tide. Total of 4 bathrooms reserved for tent campers but there was always a LONG line and barely any campers.
Have never stayed here, but was recommended by a local dive shop. After reading the owners responses to complaints, we will keep looking. You can tell a lot about a place by the response given. As a business owner I would offer this advice, at least try to act like you care. The responses given are horrible and read like a nightmare.
Located at the entrance of the Keys, I find this campsite for a privately run extremely great and for the price to Key West even very cheap! Our pitches are located directly on the water, just a few steps away. The staff is actually, as everywhere in Florida, extremely friendly and helpful, as are the other roommates in the square. Swimming is possible, although there is no sandy beach like from the TV. We are very satisfied 😃👍🏻

2022-05-15This is our 3rd stay and we love it here. We generally stay a week and book the peninsula, site 41-38. It is very convenient for our kayak docking and the beach are. The staff is very friendly. Since it is in Key Largo, be smart and do your research. Don’t be a whiner when it’s not a Hilton Hotel. You are after all camping. We are from Texas.

2022-01-13Stayed in lot 36 1/8 through 1/10. My lot was a little close to the road but things quiet down at night. Worked well for a short pit stop. Very hard to find openings in the keys on short notice. Great location in Key largo on the north side of the road (same side as the island long bike path). Nice well kept place. Good people, will stay again.

2022-03-25Called in today to cancel my June reservations and the women who took my call was extremely rude. I qualified (due to calling in advanced) to receive a full refund, minus $25 for card fees. I was unaware of this and just asked what the fee was for and without missing a beat the lady on the phone got extremely rude and started cutting me off. I am very thankful we had to cancel because of this is how they treat customers over the phone, I would hate to see how the act with people staying there.

2022-05-16The park is poorly maintained. The roads are difficult to navigate sites are hard to park. The blond in the office is arbitrary at best. The electrical system is defective, The blond stated that they had a fire that caused six RVs and a boat to burn down in the park because the close proximity of the sites. She went on to tell me that if my trailer were to have a fire it would be my liability. We had existing reservations and stopped in to view the park. We cancelled our reservation and she retorted in an unpleasant manner we will charge you $25 for administrative fees.

2022-06-09Within the first 20 minutes of showing up I had called the office to let them know that a bunch of the blinds were broken and there is no privacy in the house... Also that when we first came in there a lot of roaches in the house... I was promised that it would be taken care of the next day.. I have learned that the reason they had told me that.. because if I was to call the agency that I had rented it from I only had it within the first 24 hours to do so... As you can see from the pictures its not secure not safe and there is no privacy between the bedroom and the master bedroom literally there is a vertical blind that is broken to separate the two so if you decide to go down with your kids just realize that you will not have privacy .. and I wouldnt dare take any food in there because the roaches will carry it off... I have personally asked for the owners to contact me and of course I was promised that I would be taken care of on this matter and once again no prevail on anything...

2021-12-15Nice small RV park on the water in Key Largo. Super friendly staff. Rates are fair for the area. We got a waterfront spot for our class b. Bathrooms were clean and fairly recently remodeled. Theres a boat launch and a couple docks. Close to restaurants and grocery stores.

2021-12-02Love this place- We have been coming for the last 5 years and its all due to Margaret and Ruth and the rest of the team. They have accomodated us and are always just darn nice and funny. The campground is very nice but the team is amazing and that is why we keep coming back . See you in 2022

2022-01-16If your looking ahead of time try and find somewhere else . We were right on top of people sleep was a mission to say the least. I think people live here and we were so close that we heard this ladys array of wind chimes ALL night. Other than that friendly staff and we were able to book the day which was great!
