UPDATE TO REVIEW: UNDER THREAT OF LEGAL ACTION THIS REVIEW REMAINS. As of Jan 25, 2017, Mark Rossmiller, owner of this State Farm Agency, has emailed me declaring that if I do not remove the negative review, that he and Debbie C will pursue legal action.WOW, what a great place to do/ attempt to do business with.Review from Dec 29, 2016:Getting an insurance quote from this place is harder than pulling teeth from an alligator, without anesthesia. The Mark Rossmiller State Farm Agency was referred to me via my Indiana State Farm agent, who always provided excellent and quick service to me.So I thought all would go smooth and easy transitioning to this State Farm agency. Unfortunately, the opposite was true here. This agency would make Rube Goldberg proud in the complexity of how it takes getting a simple insurance quote into a several month ordeal.I requested quotes from Debbie C starting back around Sept 6, 2016 via email.Also, wanting to compare rates, I requested quotes from other Insurance carriers in the area too. I requested insurance quotes on several real estate properties and multiple vehicles.The quotes either came very, very slow or not at all.Some quotes came so slow, that by the time I received a reply, I already had quotes from several other agencies in hand, and purchased insurance and moved on to my next project. Some quotes did not come at all, and when I later questioned Debbie why she did not follow up as promised, she said she thought if I needed immediate assistance I would just call the office.Maybe in the 1990s I would have done it all via phone calls or even in person, and not have minded it taking a few weeks to get an insurance quote. But in fairness I am a high tech guy and prefer to do things the modern economical time saving way, such as utilizing email and Internet website, many of which offer instant quotes without even talking to a live person.I try to avoid lengthy intrusive phone calls and playing phone tag, ha.Fast forward to Dec 28, 2016, I am still giving this office an opportunity to earn my business. I emailed Heidi, and she passed me back to Debbie. I now have changed my All State insurance to Geico, which had the lowest rates, and was the easiest to deal with.I am still waiting for a follow up email from Debbie today, although too late now, as I have made a decision and went with the quotes in hand. I actually bought and flipped a property that I wanted a quote from State Farm on, quicker than State Farm was able to even get me a quote.I wont go into specific details and bore you to sleep, but I think this review gives the general idea of how my interaction went with this company. I do not like writing these types of bad reviews, but I do so hoping Mark can address the issues he may be unaware of in his office.When I brought these issues up to Debbie, she did not know / think she was doing anything incorrectly, and she sort of thought I was an ass for bringing the matter into the light. When I do these things, I do it hoping the person can better themselves, with true and honest feedback. Instead of me just saying all is great, and not ever doing business with them, and them not understand why.If you like nostalgia, and doing things the slow ole fashion way, and have several weeks or even months to wait for an insurance quote, this office may work great for you.
We have the highest respect for this State Farm Office. Debbie Carroll, Vinnie and Barbara are all awesome. They always have a smile for us whether on the phone or in person. Debbie helps us with our needs and does a great job. She is always willing to work around our work schedules and is a tremendous help. Barbara and Vinnie are great with customer service, We have been with State Farm for 36 years and would not switch due to the service we receive.Kim and John
I must say I am very pleased with this insurance company. I saved over $600.00 every six months by switching from another insurance company. Mr. Rossmiller has the most professional, courteous, and knowledgeable agents at his office. They were very quick to return my phone calls, and if I could not reach my agent, the staff there were readily available to help. I highly recommend State Farm, and specifically this branch for your insurance needs.
I have been with State Farm Insurance for the past two years and yet to miss a payment, The people of State Farm Insurance at Apollo Beach are just the greatest, they call me on their off to remind me of my upcoming payment day because I work so much, I forget what day or planet Im on. If theirs a problem they sit down with me and search for answer to the problem and they explain things to me in a language I can understand. Debbie is the greatest, since day one she has kept me on my toes, making sure I dont lose my policy. Everyone in the office treats me like a human being, not a policy number. I refer all my family and friends to Debbie and State Farm for the Best insurance policy ever. I tried the rest, but none better than the best, State Farm Insurance.
I was pleased to meet with Debbie Carroll on Monday, October 21st. Unfortunately, it was under unpleasant circumstances.My uncle passed away and left an annuity for me. She was extremely sympathetic to our needs and very understanding. I had no idea what any of these procedures meant and she was very patient with us. She went over every little detail with genuine concern for our wellbeing. I was so delighted that my uncle worked with Mrs. Carroll because she was so very pleasant.I highly recommend anybody that needs the same quality care and services that they stop by this office.Thank you to all who work there.

We have been a State Farm customer / client for over 40 years and have been with the same agent in Virginia for almost 30 years. We were not looking forward to having to change agents for our move to Florida recently. Our insurance needs have become somewhat complicated over the years and we require a little more one-on-one time than a lot of clients. I met with Debbie at Marks office and could not be happier. She has taken the time to learn what our needs are help with the changeover by investing the time and discussing issues with our former agent. After many years of being a model multi-line customer State Farm cancelled my policy because they wanted so badly to add my son to my policy even though he lives in another state in his own house and we provided proof of that. Heidi, the rude office manager was so nasty in her condescending tone of assumption that he resides with us. The staff here used to be decent and professional but not anymore.This place and the morals of these people are trash! Shame on you Mark Rossmiller for allowing this to happen! May you get the same treatment in return! Id rather be with a company that is compassionate, TRUSTING, non-discrimnitory and nasty to its custmers anyway!
I moved to Florida last year and needed property insurance. I had no knowledge of what was offered or needed in Florida since I came from up north. After many confusing calls to other agencies, I spoke with Nancy. She was patient and educational with out the pressure. With no fanfare I was covered. The year is up and again they helped me get an online account so I can manage my coverage. As my family moves south I will recommend them with no reservations or trepidations.
I had been a Nationwide customer for 28 years. After retirement, my wife and I moved from rural upstate New York to Gibsonton Florida. We lost our multiple policy discount (home + auto) because Nationwide does not underwrite homeowners policies in the state of Florida and then the cost of our auto policy doubled!After shopping around I found that Nationwide was not even competitive in the state of Florida! Every insurance company I contacted was less expensive! We signed an auto policy with AMICA at $700 a year less for the exact same coverage. The downside was that all communications were over the internet and very impersonal, with no local agent to deal with. At the end of a year, the cost of our auto policy went up by $700! Note that there were no claims filed and no points charged to either of our drivers licenses over the course of the year!After shopping around for the second year in a row, I decided against any company not offering a local agent and relying strictly on the internet for communications. I focused on the best price from a major player within the insurance industry with an excellent rating. State Farm fit the bill and Debbie at the Mark Rossmiller Agency was a pleasure to deal with. Debbie was very personable and professional. She handled all our requests in an efficient and reasonable time frame. Our new auto insurance policy is $200 a year less than what Nationwide or AMICA wanted for the identical coverage. I have also made some Mutual Fund investments with State Farm. I highly recommend the Mark Rossmiller Agency for all your insurance needs.

I called State farm In Apollo Beach on Thursday in the afternoon to start an Renters Insurance policy. By the end of the same day she had it completed. She was so friendly and Helpful and made everything go so smooth and quick.
I bought car insurance with them. I had a very hard time getting anyone to call back.I was trying to find out about changing Flood from Allstate to State Farm.I called, no response. I drove down to the Del Webb address. The woman said she cant do anything because the phones and Internet were down. She promised to call me Monday morning....no call. I called them. Cathy will call you back. No call back. I called again. Veronica said they were short staffed. I said I was concerned as they dont communicate, when they say they will.

2021-07-09Worked with Erin Myers to set up car and homeowners insurance for my mother who was moving to Florida full time. She was a joy to work with and so helpful! It’s difficult to try to make these arrangements for someone else, especially when you are in another state and she made it so easy. Can’t say enough good things about my experience. 2021-08-30I called for a quote triggered by a mailer I received. I was referred to Joe who was extremely friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I never felt rushed nor was I made to feel like my questions were dumb or irrelevant. Joe kept in touch with me while I obtained other quotes from my existing carrier and other competitors. After completing my due diligence we decided to change to State Farm after years with GEICO not only for the savings Joe was able to offer but because from day one I felt like a valued client. We will definitely be bringing Joe Larosa more business for our insurance needs.

2021-05-11Be very careful with State Farm. They will cancel your comprehensive without communication. Mine was for auto glass claims. Imagine that in Florida with every road under construction? It was a surprise when my bank began asking for coverage documents!

2015-09-17I have been with State Farm for a couple years now and I love this office. It was the most affordable insurance plan for me by at least $50 less a month than everywhere else. All of the women that work there are incredibly friendly and understanding. I live paycheck and paycheck and sometimes I have to pay my auto insurance a few days late, they never make me feel bad about it, the office always tries to work with me. I genuinely feel like they care and have my best interest in mind. I will never leave this office. They provide the best customer service I have ever received.
