4.2.19 I have been waiting now for over 2 weeks for a settlement agreement. MICHEAL OWEN and his staff cannot locate it! INCOMPETENT FIRM! Dont ever give this guy money without confirming first that he even has prior knowledge to defend your case. Micheal will take your money and leave you holding the bag I promise you that.3.21.19 Mr Owen will not forward my documents I need. I now lowered his rating again! Mr Owen totally screwd my case up by depending on a student of law to deal with my case. He was totally clueless about my case at mediation. He was unprepared, he suid the wrong party and really looked incompetent. Please if you need a lawyer who wants to help tje the client consider that the simplest thing to bring to a mediation would be the documents you need to negotiate. This idiot left them at his office and it cost me lots of money.
I called this firm due to a foreclosure sale that I needed advice on or to hire someone immediately, stressing the urgency Lauren stated she would have someone call me back in an hour roughly. I called back in an hour and a half and they said they had sent an email to the attorney who hadnt answered back yet but they would call me as soon as possible. After two days I give up and who wants an attorney that doesnt have the courtesy or respect to simply call you back even if they cant take the case Do yourself a favor and find someone else!

2020-07-30Michael Owen was recommended by a friend to help me navigate a contractual/legal matter for my business. I originally attempted to address the matter with another firms help. The other firm overly complicated things, charged me a fortune, and ultimately couldnt solve the problem. Michael was able to help me. It was obvious he had a good command of the relevant legalities and could quickly and accurately address my questions and concerns. I was very happy with his advice and with the quality of his work. His billing was very fair.

I’ve not only worked for law firms in the past, but I have delt with legal matters personally and I can honestly say before hiring them, I’ve never had the comfort of knowing my attorney was working for me and I could go to sleep at night knowing they had my back! 2019-04-22We chose Dunivan because of a referral from my family law attorney because the other attorneys are very expensive that we hired to evaluate the case. We feel we have a very good handle on this case as far as “standing” is concerned. My family law attorney charges $200 and is excellent, so we asked for referral to someone good competent in litigation specifically for business. Dunivan’s sales pitch was convincing without giving specific experience. He made comments like “when Carlton Fields sees my name they know I will litigate”. We unfortunately did not do the diligence in checking his experience and specialization as we quickly found out after Dunivan closed the loop on his con.Dunivan agreed to start working on the case the end of March 2019. I was informed the first week of April that Dunivan was in court till Wednesday Apr 3, but that date came and went and then the next week no calls or emails were responded to by Dunivan, finally the 3rd week I got an email from Dunivan stating set meeting to “make sure we are on the same page”. My gut told me something was wrong, the delays, then the weird email about “being on same page”. Sure enough the conversation was stressed as he acted like there were only a few counts (I had sent Dunivan a detailed history that started with the counts other top Attorney had given me, he had no problem with any of them and added he though I had criminal and employment claims), but time to write the suit and it was like he was working for my adversary, and sure enough the suit came to me, was missing 90% of the claims I was told were very solid from firms like Shumaker Loop. Not only were claims missing, the suit was ½ written highlighting my adversaries education, etc… I’m 57 been in lot of lawsuits, and never saw anyone or anything where it droned on and on about my adversaries accolades. Then came an email telling his secretary to return the “balance of my funds”. His plan was to take my money, not do anything, then return a small portion of my money.
