While drivers shouldnt stop on this bridge, I have seen people fishing from it and also its a popular spot for manatee watching. The canal itself is quiet and pretty, and manatees swim up it to the nearby dam - perhaps because the water is warmer - so its often easy to spot one. Just dont obstruct traffic or cause a problem while here!
